A clear explanation ... GreenWorks is identical to the 40V Kobalt trimmer. And it has a double spool winder so it uses 2 strings (I use an 80 MM size...

The best instruction I have found yet! An hour and a half wasted, following other video instructions, before I found your video. It’s over 90 degrees F here in Australia and I’ve got blisters on my hands turning that stupid knob. Your instructions are simple, accurate, concise and extremely helpful. How I wish I’d found you first! The heartiest, most appreciative, sincere thanks to you Sir. From a fellow KZbin Creator In 🇦🇺 Australia Just AWESOME!!

Thank you! I’d watched a few other videos that were no help. The vital piece of info you shared was to hit one button, give it a wiggle, then hit the other button and pull. That was the key bit of info that helped the most.

This is like the fourth video I've seen taking off the bottom cover if You follow the arrow directions on the bottom of the weed eater and line the arrow on the outside of that spindle right there to the one on the center spindle you'll see a place that says line in and what you do is you take off six about 12 ft of string 6 ft on each side and you fish that string from one hole to the next when you pull out and even amount of string on each side then you take the center centerpiece and probably a pair of channel locks and you turn that centerpiece in the direction the arrow shows to turn it until all the string has been wound inside and you got to even amount on each side of that spindle you don't have to take nothing apart

I did your version and the line gets used up real rather quickly. Do you know what that might be that's causing that? Also can I spray wd40 on it for easy removal or is that not good?

This method works for me! I tried threading it without taking it apart and I didn't have the hand strength to turn it while pushing in. Thank you for your clear demonstration.

I have a Kobalt and a Ego trimmer. The Ego is twice as easy to restring than the Kobalt. Takes less than a minute versus 5 to 10 minutes.

I found out the simple way to do this kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWKbZXeVmJppl8U

It's kind of knacky to do but using 12ft of line and simply pushing through is easier for me. Yes, you have to play around with the alignment of the hole and twist the line around some, but that method is much easier. Update: OK, I'm more on board with your method now after seeing the line bunch up on the top channel doing it the other way. Only difference is I wind up 11 ft of string and it works perfectly.

not 90 degrees, 180 because it is opposite side, but that is trivia. You did do a good demo.

I think they're so far better way to do this. Without taking it apart. Just like on a Echo weed eater. All you do is hold the base of the spool closest to the weed eater shaft and rotate the head until you can see daylight through the line feeder hole... Then take your line and stick it through halfway and then while holding the base closest to the shaft turn the head to wind it up leaving the desired Lynx sticking out. Cut off the excess to make it even in your done.. You Do not have to take the head off.
@lfgenergy2 жыл бұрын
completely confused why anyone would mess with removing the head like you have, when Kobalt has designed the trimmer to be quickly loaded with 6 to 8 feet of cord by simply feeding thru the head and twisting the end clockwise…I mean, it literally takes me 15 seconds to rewind the trimmer…

I would like to ask you a question. Obtaining a Cwi... will it qualify me for ndt level 1? In not sure what route to go.i want to inspect but I never had to read blueprints and I'm not good with computers. Will these things hinder me? Man can I get your email? lol

You're doing 2 things very wrong. You don't have to remove the cover, just line up the arrows, feed line in one hole and it comes out the opposite hole. Hole the free ends and even the line lengths, then simply rotate the string head knob clockwise until there is about 7" of free line. Line size is .080, using .095 line make the entire process very difficult and bogs-down the trimmer. The second error is in your line length statement, 13 feet is in the owners manual, but loading 12 feet is easier.
@LyriCa1z3 жыл бұрын
Loads counter clockwise on mine. I think someone somewhere go the instructions messed up. I loaded mine 5 times the first season I used it with no issue. Went to refresh my memory the next season and everything said clockwise. It loaded just fine but would NOT bump feed. On a whim I decided to go counter clockwise, and boom.
@jamiekirk21453 жыл бұрын
You don't have to do all that crap!!!!. Cause you only have to line up the arrows!!!! And wrap as much line you can!!!!.just put 14 feet of line on in three minutes period!! .dumb $$$ period!!!...hope you just learned something!!!!
