So true about the natural curve finding the soundhole! I figured that out a while ago and it made life much easier. Especially since I'm always trying out new strings on my Enya.

Great. I was wondering how this would work so thanks for sharing. Nice a clear.

Instead of trying to reach inside the uke to find the strings I use a cheap set of fishing forceps. This is especially useful when restringing a baritone. As long as you are careful not the damage round the sound hole it makes the job a lot easier.

Muito bom. Tive que pesquisar um video em ingles, para aprender como trocar as cordas do meu ukulele, quando for necessário. Congratulations 🇧🇷

Hi Alex, very informative, I should have checked this out before replacing a string(s) on my ukulele as I reused the balls unnecessarily. My SUS supplied Snail ukulele is a baritone so its Ionger between the sound hole and the bridge, I found it difficult to get the string to appear at the sound hole, is there any special tips for making this easier or should the natural bend trick still work ? Thanks

No special trick. I do find the baritones easier to get my fingers inside to recover the string though so fingers crossed 🤞

I have a question about the bead that you take off from the old string. Why do some ukulele strings come with the bead inside and you did not put the bead back on when you replace them? I understand the purpose of the bead is to make sure the string stays in place. Did you leave the bead out for purpose? Is the bead tied inside the ukulele going to influence the sound?

No it won't influence the sound as it's not between the bridge and the saddle. If a manufacturer chooses to use the bead, it is probably just because it saves time and is a bit tidier than tying a thick knot in the string. I leave the beads out because I've seen them wear out the string a bit quicker by grinding away.

Why do the strings one at a time.

You do not show how to do the top bit. I had a string break a week after I bought it from you. Hope that is not going to continue, not happy about it as the strings were supposed to be new and put on by you in the store before I got it.

Hi Theresa, Sorry to hear that... sadly strings break, often seemingly at random whether they are new or old. I recommend getting in touch with the shop if you have concerns rather than comment on my personal youtube channel. The shop email is alex@ukulele.co.uk I'll be happy to discuss the issue after the weekend.

Also I explain the other bit you mentioned in this video if that helps you at all? kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpece6CoaMdmgtU
