How to retrieve Vw e-up data from cheap ELM327 dongle

Here is a cheap way you can retrieve any information you need from Volkswagen e-up (It should be the same with Seat Mii electric or Skoda Citigo iv). You need an ELM327 dongle which is between 3-8 euro, and Android phone and some time to program the values you want to retrieve from the car. Here are links to the ELM327 v1.5 dongle:

Great discovery and good video! It seems now the developers of Car Scanner created the extended profile for VW E-up! No more need to manually enter all the codes. It is very easy to find: Connection - Custom sensors - Choose connection profile: VW e-UP!

Thank you for the very nice video! In the thread on GoingElectric I have also shown that you can import/export the custom codes as csv to save some typing :) For convenience I have now linked my csv-list of (selected) codes in the GE Wiki article as well. Keep _up_ the good videos!

@@tedonash2681 Could you maybe tell me what value you get on 22 F4 5B when the battery is fully charged? I suspect this value might reflect the state of health (SOH). I get F4, meaning about 2% loss which would make sense.

Shark Cow I just plug the charger in the car. It will be fully changed after 2 hours and will let you know of the outcome. What should I put in the formula of the custom censor?

I appreciate very high this pracrtcal instruction how to add e-up PID to Car Scanner. I have Pro version but I need to wait circa 5 months for my e-up. What is your opinion, would have the 2020 e-up 32.4 kWh the same codes as is in the published list?

Please can you tel me the exact voltage from the battey 100% 1/1 full chargerd and just the last line before the needel is in the red zone ? thx a lot how about the compleet controller unit/ecu from a e-golf to get a 100Kw peak power vs the 60Kw stock? i think the drive unit automatic gearbox can handle this and most electro motors can peak easy more....you need just more amps and hold more amps longer until 100kmh vs the 60kmh the stock e-up does, the car is nog heavy so this way you can do 0 to 100kmh in 4 seconds ? :)

I have one off-topic question: Do your e-up! has automatic dipping of the passanger mirror when you reversing? (standardly you must switch the window adjuster to the passanger mirror)

Definitely I will continue working on that. Now I am spending more time with my family rather than this project as I have to stay home. Meanwhile I am working to create a portal where a Raspberry Pi will read the data from the OBD dongle and send it there for analysis and history tracking.

in the new version of the app it is possible. I think I have show here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIPJeGicjZt0ea8 that you can measure voltage and amperage of the charge. If you do a custom sensor and add your own formula I think you can also calculate the kW
