Can't wait to try this when I'm weight bearing again! Would you consider this a good warm up to prevent further tears? It'd be cool to see a vid on prevention instead of post rehab

For future injury prevention, focusing on flexibility, core/hip/knee strength, and proper warm up and cool down exercises are your best bets.

Justun Dodd hey thanks for reaching out! Depends on what deficits people issues you are dealing with...is the knee unstable?

@@TheJiuJitsuTherapist I just got off from ACL reconstruction and will start my rehab process. When I get to the phase where I should start with sports drills, can I begin with this?

Victor Herrera Guzman it depends on your rehab process, treatment protocol, and your rehab team. I would always defer to them when looking for treatment progression. You can always show the video and see their thoughts if it is something that they feel will fit in with your rehab. Thanks for checking out the video! 🤙

When do you think he'll be able to return to rolling? I have had a short longitudinal tear on my lateral meniscus for a year now, my orthopedists advised against surgery because of the long term effects. They also advised against returning to BJJ (haven't trained for a year now), I can't wait anymore unfortunately and I'm thinking of starting training again in a month, how bad an idea is this? Will a Bauerfeind Genutrain S be useful at all? Thanks man, I'm 23 (got injured when I was 22) and I can't envision a future without BJJ.

Smbat B. I think without being able to assess you and look at your function it's difficult for me to answer. If you choose to return to BJJ which is the ultimate goal then I believe you can accomplish that. Your return must be slow and gradual. If something hurts then avoid that. Start very simple and basic with light and slow movement drills. Advance gradually and train with partners who are controlled. It will take your body time to acclimate. Also, the goal is to prevent reinjury so make sure you stretch and strengthen as well as rest appropriately

Thanks a lot for your quick answer. I think I'm going to spend a month/month and a half doing some PT before returning to BJJ.

Smbat B. That's sounds great. Have a plan and make small incremental goals for yourself. Best of luck and hope you get back on the mats soon!
