this game has the most awkward as hell defense mechanics I've ever dealt with in a fighting game. (this still counts as a fighting game right?) I feel like its most simon says when it comes to blocking, dodging, countering and etc, if you don't recognize what the enemy is doing in the heat of combat you're already lost.

On your last video, I’m confused on what the perception window is so basically I’m confused why it’s called the perception window if you need to not hold perception during it, but after the string combo if you hold perception, it’ll work for a basic counter thingy? Trying to beat my friend in this game. Within those 3 to 5 hits, what is the best thing to do? And then after the perception window is over what is the best course of action?

@@Pslamist yeah sadly the game just doesn’t have the same IP strength as dragon ball or smash. Even if it plays well and is fun. It’s a shame though cause it does look good

I thought there was no knockdown situation cuz you can tech out of it. If you don't press anything, then yeah. But can't you tech out of what WOULD be a knockdown? Just trying to clarify for my own knowledge.

I think I figured it out! I think this will both stop the spamming and help with the timing a bit. I'm using training with piccolo while doing this. While I still have problems, what helps me is paying attention to the hit counter in the left corner of the screen. after the hit number pops up, pressing up + square in that moment, it can help with getting the timing almost right enough to counter the following hit! And another thing is waiting until after the fifth hit of the rush combo , wait until the 5 and number 2851 damage to appear ,then hit the buttons again to use it too. It's still hard to pull off, but it can help a lot to use the damage numbers as an indicator for using the technique in time. It's also helped me stopped spamming since I'm paying more attention to the numbers versus destroying my thumbstick and square button. I just wanted to leave this here for others since it might help a little. Another amazing tip: If you press guard and hold the thumsbstick down, it makes guard vanishing from follow-ups alot easier. I'm hitting those 10/10 more effectively now. And if you succeed, hold guard and press perception for sway movement to lower their ki if they are on the attack. I actually beat my friends using this method a lot.

Super counters about the scrubiest thing I’ve seen in Sparking Zero, and I’ve used it to almost get to A Rank. Being able to defend when you shouldn’t is just brain dead, I’m gonna stop playing Ranked if this is what I have to do to compete, because this isn’t skill, it’s redundant. This doesn’t take away from your helpful videos, man, you’ve helped me go from D Rank to B1, and I can never thank you enough.

Yeah I can agree that it makes offence feel very underwhelming. Kinda feels like “what’s the point of learning combos when they can just get out of everything anyways”. But… I have a video on the way that’s going to make super counter harder to do.. after some more testing I’ll be releasing it 👊

The game is defence heavy not offense. It's only in shit ranked that it's offense heavy coz no one knows how to defend. Also, the real skill in the game revolves around ki management, movement and defence. Sorry but if you don't like this, then tenkaichi series was never for you because super counter is not a new mechanic. Just like all fighting games, this is like a game of chess, you need to bait the opponent into a whiff so you can punish. Also the game is fairly new, it sold incredibly well, there's a MASSIVE influx of newbie players so it's very easy to climb right now. I have maybe 120-140 games played and I'm A1 with an 85% win rate. I've versed guys in c rank that are for sure gonna get s rank easily. Anyway, hope you give it another chance and maybe look at it through a different perspective. Else there is endless amount of custom battles you can do which is equally as fun imo.

Why isn’t anyone talking about the “step-in-sway” bug? For all of the GT characters besides Vegeta ss4 and gogeta ss4 can’t step-in-sway. The same goes for yajirobe. I’m not sure if this is intentional or not but there doesn’t seem to be a consistency in terms of dp or skills because why can hercule step-in-sway but gt goku and pan can’t?

this is something that isn’t described good in the game it isn’t your fault, just the game not having a good training mode, but not all characters have the ability to “step in sway” for example super baby 2 cannot step in sway, however jeice from the ginyu force can

step in sway is a character ability that not all characters can have, unfortunately like i said that’s not described well in this game at all, but you can find out the differences in every character by going to “explanation of controls” on a specific character while in training mode, LOOK THROUGH EVERY TAB FOR EVERY CHARACTER, you probably noticed characters have different rush attacks (flying kicks, rolling hammer) the same can be said for movement options and i believe some ki blasts attacks

@@juby16 it literally just depends on the character some can do it and some can’t, it may be some forms of the same character that might be able to perform more options when you transform but i’m not sure, all i know is that not every character can perform a step in sway because of my current dp team😭

@@igxshade okay fair enough I’m just curious as to what determines it, because why can teen goku sway but ss4 goku can’t. They both goku lol
