Don’t forget the car that was right behind you and parked in the spot because they assumed you were moving on as you drove half way across the parking lot before backing up.

It doesn't matter, while doing the reverse bay park, all you have to do is make all observations and finish within the bay, the examiner will unlikely get out to check as being central in the bay isn't a requirement, they will open the door to check you are within the bay.

​@@Stu81 If there was a car between lines 3 and 2 then the instructor would have bumped into it. I appreciate that this is for a test senario but if you can only park in spaces where the adjacent spaces are empty then the technique is bad. Its pretty obvious from the video that this is not a great example.

This here is the reason driving standards are so low. This supposed driving school video literally telling you it's okay to cut the corner and cross bays. Just because it's allowed or okay in an empty car park doesn't mean its good or proper way to park?? Just teach how to park without ever cutting the line and then your pupil can park anywhere in the real world! It's like saying you can cut corners if the junction is clear, go over the speed limit if the road is empty, or not indicate if no one is around. In the moment they won't affect anyone but they're just bad habits. Teaching to pass the test and not to drive in the real world is a huge part of the problem rn.

Wait til your shoulder lines up with 2nd bay is my view, means then you get more close to the middle of the bay you want and far less likely to cut any bay up

If i want to park like this in between cars. I usually align my rear to the center of the free parking spot and full turn my steering wheel away from the parking spot before i start backing up and slowly adjust steering accordingly. This way you could see both cars in your side mirrors. Sorry for bad english not my first language.

I forgot the part where when i fully turn my steering wheel away from the parking spot i drive forward a little bit until i can see the hood of the car to my left and the headlights of the car to my right in my mirrors before slowly backing up. This is how do it on tight parking lots and busy roads. Hope its helpful 🙂
