To everyone having issues due to the latest game patch, I have found a working solution 😁 Download this 1st in the Steam console download_depot 1716740 1716742 7068708531301311719 5161319454857509031 and copy the files into your game folder. Then go ahead and download the version from this video that you want in the description and copy those files to your game folder as well, it should then work perfectly for you. The latest 1.7.36 update has changed some of the main game files, which is why the older Exe file no longer works when trying to launch it. The 1st download will revert the new changes that have been made to some of the main game files.

Now that the Address Library is something we also have to consider for updates, how do you recommend we handle that for reversion purposes?

Update: There is a fix to get the depot rollback to work in the comments on the nexus page, it finally worked for me! Im sure I did something wrong, but when i copy and paste the old version into the game directory and hit run, it never starts the game. I tried these steps three times and Im stuck. Ill try once more, but im doing a clean install of the game and verifying files, then im going to download the old depot code again and hope for the best. Thank you for the video, i just wish it was working for me! EDIT: im not the only one having this issue. On the nexus mod page for SFSE, a couple other users have reported that this trick is not working for 1.7.33

@rexhall10 No luck. Others are saying that the depot code trick isn't working for them on 1.7.33 It launches and then stops almost instantly. I've tried launching with SFSE, Starfield.exe and the vortex launcher, but no luck.

Great video thanks for posting. Unfortunately, this is not working for me for this latest update. Let me be clear the depot process you outlined worked perfectly and did give me the previous .exe file. I had a backup of the exe file and have checked both the backed-up version and the version that was downloaded via the depot process and the match, however copying the file over does not allow the game to run. I am seeing a few others with the same issue.

My backup when enabled in Vortex adds a 'SFSE Backup' folder with the .exes and .dll in into the Data folder rather than the main Starfield folder. Do you know what that's about and how to fix it so it adds them to the main folder?

Ok I think I figured it out, after I added the .zip to Vortex and it stored the mod in the staging folder (by default usually C:\Users\[account]\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\starfield\mods), it was automatically creating a Data folder and 'SFSE Backup (1.7.29)' folder inside, instead of just the .exes and .dll. I made sure it was just the .exes and .dll in the mod folder and now it adds/deletes those in the main Starfield folder when enabled/disabled like it should.

I cant get it working either, But if you want the newest version back to play, Revert any changes you made from this video from the 3:50 to the 5;10 mark. then verify your game thru steam > right click starfield > properties > installed files > verify integrity of game files

Yep! With this, you just revert your gam version back, and revert your SFSE version back, and all of the mods you were previously using still work, and you get achievements as well!

@@MrJays Reverted back from 1.7.33 to 1.7.29 - didn't bring back the puddles-glitch or the glitch with the chest after going through the wall in Stroud-Eklund-station. Even tried loading my oldest save to check; still gone.

Hi! So, if you wanted to use this to revert you game back to the previous version without needing SFSE, you would follow up to about 3:33. It would be the same process of downloading the new .exe from the depot, and replacing the main .exe in your folders, you just wouldn't need to worry about SFSE after that. And the code you need to download the version before 1.7.33 is in the description as well, so just download the 1.7.29 version using that code, and drag the new .exe just like I do in the video, and that should revert your game back :D Hope this helps!

@@MrJays It does! I'll give it a try. It sounds silly but will this allow for the ship vender credit glitch with the chest again? My 5 year old son loves building and rebuilding ships with me and I was hoping to keep that going to have fun with him.

@@adamk8376 So, I believe it may revert that fix as well, you may have to test that out. But if that glitch is still fixed even after reverting the game version, I'd drag all of the files from the new depot into your steam folder and try again, because they have have updates certain parts of models, or parts of the world to fix that. so it may require the entire depot instead of just the .exe. Hope that helps as well :)
