One correction here. Wipro HOLMES is not a platform to improve WFH efficiency. In layman's term, It is a platform helps to automate certain repeated jobs which was earlier done by IT engineers. This automation helps to reduce the headcount required thus saved lots of manual efforts and improved efficiency.

Good Evening Mam, I have a queries regarding the stocks of Airtel, the Financials doesn't look good hence I fail to understand the following : 1. Why are the stocks still 500 as it is also a telecom company while Vodafone Idea is down in drain ? Is it because of other services provided by Airtel like Airtel Bank and Airtel Dish. ? 2. Nice and Informative Information. Just to correct, 1. Product : There are some product based companies, which develops the products and sell out the licences to earn the revenue. Example of a global product based company is Microsoft, which developed the Ms Word, Excel etc and earns the licence fees. Some service based companies also develop the products and earns the fees from the customers, example 'BANKS' from Tcs. 2. Utilization : Service based companies maintains the bench strength, which means the associates who are not having any project allocations. These associates acts only the cost to the companies and not going to generate the revenue. So more the utilisation % means more profit. Hope this helps.

Utilization is basically % of employees actually generating revenue. So, basically it excludes people on bench. And utilization for onshore employees is ~90-95% for and offshore is less b/w 70-80%. Utilization rates in IT industry has nothing to do with work efficiency or wfh productivity.

Hi The statement saying that product companies are a minor part, I think that is only true in the stock market that too in India. A very simple and famous example would be Tesla, Microsoft, Facebook etc. All these are the biggest IT companies and are Product companies (Not service) Btw, Thanks for providing such great content.

Just a small correction, if localization increases ofcourse they will earn marks for it, but margins drop significantly as cost to company for foreign employees is way much higher than Indians , like if Indians were sent to US , they still cost less to company.

Hi Rachana, good content and explanation. Keep going. A quick point from my side. Technically localization has many meaning in IT. Assuming that your explanation as one of the correct one, let us also not ignore the fact that why the outsourcing concept came it to picture 25 -30 years back. It is to avoid paying in dollars to the locally available skilled resources. Also local people will not work more than stipulated hours in a day. Whereas the outsourcing helped them to reduce the salary cost significantly and increase productivity. Need to see the impact of this factor in the longer run. To my opinion, companies started the local recruitment because of local Government policy changes and Visa issues.

Hi, The "Localization Focus" explanation was mostly incorrect. I guess you've been misguided. I would say, you should re-evaluation that section again. Thanks Localisation Focus: - Doesn't decrease cost. It costs more to recruit a ‘local’ in abroad market due to scarcity of IT skilled people. Also, a person with knowledge of working with offshore teams & the working culture is more efficient than someone who is new to both. - Localisation was not a choice opted by the IT companies. If it was a choice, In the last 20yrs, Y are they doing it only recently after Trump & visa restrictions? It clearly wasn't their choice. They were forced to act in this manner. - Also, "Localisation" in these IT companies lingo is more from the "Visa/Citizenship" status of people being recruited & not from a cultural sense of actually recruiting native people to promote their brand abroad.
