I just found your page yesterday, while battling a nasty migraine. Your voice is so easy to listen to, even with a pounding head, lol. I'm a native Massachusetts resident, and the "E. Sandwich" on the side is a town on the Cape (or Cape Cod to non-locals). It's most likely a cranberry crate. We used to vacation every year on the Cape and one time I purchased a few old cranberry crates, very similar to yours! Cranberries are a huge part, probably the only part, of Cape Cod agriculture. Can't wait to finish watching what you do with this after I get out of work :).

Thanks so much for the info about the crate! I had no idea. The video is from a couple of years ago when we were selling our upcycled items in a vendor booth. Someone bought this the first week I put it in our booth!

QV Creams are excellent, however an Australian brand (I am an Aussie). I looked it up and apparently Walmart carries the QV range. My dad's skin was shocking (81 yrs), so I bought him the soap free QV wash for 5he shower, and the sensitive skin in the moisturiser cream. Unbelievable change in his skin. He complained first up that it was all girlie stuff, then later raved about it lol. I am 58 and use the QV Sensitive cream after every shower. It soaks straight in and does not leave you all greasy. Love it

I use a couple drops of olive oil on my face as a moisturizer. I’ve been using it for years. I figured if they used it for beauty in the Bible then it should work now too. 😊

We didn’t have stink bugs, but one of my friends did. It was horrible! I believe they had an exterminator come and fumigate their house, which worked. The scent of the butter for the wood sounds heavenly! Would probably make a nice scented candle as well! Lol! Gorgeous piece! What a difference it makes when adding the butter to the wooden box!

I usually am not a negative Nancy and I'm not trying to be now, but wanted to offer a tip for those that aren't aware... With your natural waxes and products such as the big momma's butta, you don't want to dip your brush directly into the container. Since the substance is all natural, you can contaminate your product and cause it to mildew. Anyway, just a helpful tip as those products are not cheap! Just scoop some out and put it on a scrap piece of plastic or recycle a plastic drink lid of some sort... Can't wait to see how it turns out, because I have a similar one sitting in my craft room that's calling my name right now...😊😊😊

That’s a great tip! Thanks for sharing 😊

I love old boxes too and that one turned out gorgeous. You mentioned hats and gloves in the back entry....I was thinking it might be kinda big for that for us but what if you took a plastic liner of some sort for the inside bottom and used it for your wet boots? Probably even be room for another smaller box or container to hold your gloves and a scarf too. My favorite use though is for a plant or Christmas tree....Thanks, Cindy

My husband has an old wooden crate with a lid from the 40s I believe. We think it was used for ammo or similar but it has a very strong musty smell from being old and sitting outdoors for a long time but it is painted and held up together well. How do you clean stuff like that and would the wax work on it since it’s light painted/ color stained?
@ReinventedDelaware Жыл бұрын
Your wooden box sounds amazing! We’ve come across many of this kind of wood box and updating them never gets old. I’m not sure what kind of paint is on your box so it is hard to give advice. Clean it well with hot soapy water and make sure you rinse it with clean water. Leave the lid open and sit it out in the sun for a full day. If the interior is unpainted wood, give it a good coat of Big mamas Butta. It comes in different scents so that will help with the musty odor. Allow it to absorb into the wood completely before using the interior. If the paint is chalk based or milk painted without a sealer then you can use the same product on it. If the paint is latex it probably won’t absorb in. Hope that helps! Enjoy your vintage treasure

I have a very old chest I bought and when I removed the sheer... there were copper staples & lots of beach sand underneath. I'm new to these projects but I have the tools & always since fascinated with antiques. So is this normal what was in this chest?? And also on the side of this chest or 2 holes made with it. The size of a quarter each, about 5 inches between them. I was thinking they may had something living in there🤷♂️
@ReinventedDelaware11 ай бұрын
Sounds like you have a treasure! It’s common to find all sorts of things in old chests and it’s a sign that it was well used by someone . The holes were probably used for a rope handle of some sort. Give the piece a good scrubbing on a sunny day and allow it to dry thoroughly in the sun. Have fun on this journey!😊

Can you stain it after application
@ReinventedDelawareАй бұрын
Yes you can! The oil soaks into the wood so it's best to allow it to cure completely - at least 30 days - before applying stain!

I am a diabetic, and I have used all different kinds of creams for dry skin, my legs and feet looked terrible and I was ashamed of them, dry skin came off in my leggings, then my friend told me about Vanicream… it is moisturizing cream, a dermatologist recommended it to her son, and IT WORKS!!! It was like magic, I couldn’t believe my eyes, I put it on after a shower and went to bed, awaking to a great pair of legs and feet😂😂😂😂… it is around 17.00 a pump plastic jar, if u try it, let me know how it works for u.. I love it.. 🌹♥️

Hi Cindy! Loved this simple project…..what a difference! I’d love the link to the Big Mamas Butta! Question… Wouldn’t it be easier for you to just include the links to the products you’re using in the description of the video so that you don’t have to reply to each person individually with the link? 😊

Hi Joann! You are so right about the links in the description. This was an older FB video from about two years ago and it was never published. As I was going through my channel I realized I had never clicked publish on it😳 I am going to add the info to the description today. Can you please check back for the links? Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it. If you have any questions about the products, just let me know here and I will get back to you asap😊

Does the butter leave the box oily feeling??
@ReinventedDelaware9 ай бұрын
No it doesn’t leave an oily feeling. Keep in mind it will have to completely cure and as it does, it soaks into the wood.

How long does it take for the box to dry after completing this? I tried it and my box is still sticky three days later. I'm wondering if I used too much??
@ReinventedDelaware Жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry for my delayed reply. Maybe you used too much for the wood. Or possibly something was already on the wood preventing it from completely soaking into the wood. Try giving it a good cleaning with soap and water. Allow it to dry in the sun. Let me know how that goes for you!😊
