Idk where people are buying wigs that cost over $300 that are matting and tangling. That's INSANE. I got my wig from West Kiss 2 yrs ago and haven't had ANY tangling/matting. Product build up contributes to matting, so make sure you're washing your wigs regularly. Lastly, to prevent tangling at the nape , most wigs have a nape tab that's attached to the rest of the wig. It's usually about 4-6" across, with 1 or 2 wefts on it. Separate the hair on that tab, detangle, then braid that hair about 1/3 down. The braid will take the friction/rubbing of you moving your head and not tangle. When driving, or wearing a hoof pull your hair in front of your shoulders .

Old school Bleach Bath with Bleach and ammonia, followed by a heated deep condition in Silicon Mix, has done miracles.

Yes it has and I do use that method when necessary but that method will only work on good quality hair. Some hair extensions are made from very poor quality hairs hence why they get badly matted. On a very normal day, we shouldn’t even be using bleach and ammonia to revive these hair extensions if they are of good quality from the scratch. This particular wig was a hot mess and even hot water couldn’t save it as the hot water I tried using to revamp it is what made it get badly tangled.

Wow great products and great job I purchased a curly kinky wig like 2 months ago it was beautiful I didn’t use lots of products on it just water and a light leave in conditioner however after a month it started matting at the nape I used Aussie 3 minute conditioner mixed with Biosilk leave in conditioner and water to get the matted hair back to life it worked !!

@@luzrodriguez4138 mines never was matted like the video only in the back it’s always soft but mines however is frizzy so I tried something new don’t use mousse’s it will cause more frizzness I boiled my unit in hot water in sink and added conditioner let sit for 20 minutes and brush the detangles out and mats in the hair always start from the bottom because you can cause damage to the wig unit I did buy some Miss Jessie’s pillow soft from Walmart to maintain the curl pattern and help with dryness and frizz I have not applied it yet to see if it works I would do a video but I’m extremely busy smh just don’t have the time

Tell me about it, I was literally left in amazement when I saw how badly matted the wig became after using hot water method! Hot water works best for Great quality hair but all human hair are not born equal! Permit me to say that some synthetic hair are even way better than some so called human hair. I got a "human" hair wig at a hair store for right at $100 and wore it pinned up and it was GORG. It was beautiful, big soft loose curls...But after honey chile, after trying to finger comb, brush, and comb it out, it's been a hot mess. It looks more like a Diana Ross look 😂 instead of the loose curls it was originally. I haven't been able to find a tutorial to help. It's not a wet and wavy, it's not a body wave either. It was Curly but loose curls, not tight ones...If i could figure 8:38 out tryna post a pic i would. I AM I DESPERATE NEED OF SOME HELP AND GUIDANCE ma'am. Any suggestions...

Hi Harly. So sorry just seeing your comment now. I hope it’s not to late to give you my suggestion. What you want to do is to completely detangle and brush out the wig, right now you want to forget about loosing the curl pattern because sadly it’s not coming back, but you can always get something even better after you detangle it by using any curler of your choice to put back the curls in the wig. It is also important you use detangling spray when brushing out the wig, it makes it so much easier to brush. I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes 🥰

Omg Thanks So Much For Making This Video. I Currently Have Deep Wave Bundles Sewn In My Hair. Last Week I Went Away For My Birthday And The Hair Was Loose And Bouncy. I Packed It Back And Went To A Spa Where The Hydrojet Pressure Hit My Back Forcefully And It Really Matted The Back Of My Bundles. The Front Sides Are Still Loose But When I Tried Detangling, I Was Brushing For Ages And Couldn't Get The Knot Out. Hi Coco. I can totally relate. Sometimes these things happen. However don’t lose hope. The hair will shed for sure but not to the point where the wig is totally bald. To reduce the shedding please use detangling spray and get a good detangling brush and brush from the tip to the root, it helps. Also get a shearing scissors to take out the knots, it will also help to reduce shedding. I hope this helps 🤍

seriously all the wigs i buy lately get tangle badly after 2 months. they are all remy hair of the best quality out there but horrible result after a short time. i wash it with solvate free shampoo an conditioner. this wigs ares expensive too. it is despicable. can somebody help please?

Hi Luz. I am sorry to hear what you are experiencing. Unfortunately you can’t really tell if a remy wig will be good or bad until you use it, especially if you order them online. Except if you are able to invest in high end brands that offer donor hair, you might not be able to completely overcome buying the wrong hair. However there are some affordable vendors that sell pretty good hair too, but you just have to research to find them. One way to care for your Remy hair is to deep condition them using Silicone Mix and detangle properly before washing or co washing your wigs, it is very important and helps to reduce damage the wig might experience in the process of washing. I have a curly human hair wig that I added blonde wefts into, and it constantly tangles like crazy. I can literally be working through it for hours on washday and think I got through all the tangles, but then just move it slightly and it's tangled again... very frustrating! Those blonde wefts feel like Barbie hair, and tangles like Barbie hair. It's also strong like rock trying to break it off. Yeah I get a little violent sometimes when getting frustrated with the tangles. I dunno if it's been like bleached to death and then glued back together somehow, or if its actually cheap plastic and I was scammed? It has that odd gritty yet smooth texture to it that sometimes synthetic hair has, and very little elasticity. I really dunno if I have the patience to take out all the blonde wefts, buy new ones and then spend hours sewing those in... I end up wearing it tangled most of the time because I just don't have the time or energy to work through nearly matted hair every week. Like I work through or even cut off the worst tangles until I run out of patience, and then just let the rest be whatever mess it wants to be. I have naturally curly hair that I spent years learning how to take care of, and I never had this level of issues with it. I deliberately got a wig with the same type of curls as my natural hair. So I don't think this is just me not knowing how to take care of curly hair. It's gotta be the quality that is just utter trash. Also the brown hair belonging to the wig originally is nowhere near as difficult to deal with. It also feels completely different to the touch. Much more... alive. Even though it was a cheap wig. I guess I'm just trying to avoid having to buy and add in new blonde wefts for it. It was a lot of work that took me a whole day. But no matter how much I drown the poor thing in conditioner, hair masks, coconut oil and water, it still takes me hours to detangle after only wearing it like normally for a week. I'm losing my mind lol. I dunno I guess I just wanted to vent about that.

Awww I am so sorry to hear this. To be honest some of these so called human hair wigs are made poorly. Only quality human hairs do well with warm or hot water. The poor quality ones would matte badly in any kind of water temperature. I shared another video similar to this on the channel, you can check it for tips on how to fix such wigs subsequently. I am glad you do!! I mixed a couple of products to restore this. I mixed the Cantù Come back curls activator with water in a spray bottle, that’s the first mix I used. Then I also used a mix of the Cantù coke back curls activator spray and Luster’s No drip curl activator. I finished up with John Freida Serum to lock in the moisture. I hope this helps

Hi hi, I have tried this method severally and it works, I also tried it with this particular wig in this video, but because of the quality of the wig, rather than restore it, the heat damaged the wig so bad, hence why I had to use this method as seen in this video to revamp the wig. Bottomline is, the method of revamp you decide to use will depend on the quality of the hair. I hope this helps to clarify 🥰

I bought a "human hair" wig from Luvme hair and I was brushing with a detangling brush each time a styled it. After the third wash, which was not aggressive at all, it rabble the way this wig did after you washed it. There is no way it was human hair. Human hair takes an extremely look time and extreme neglect to mat like that. I take really good care of my wigs and none have ever done that. It must be whatever fabric they use for these fake human hair wigs. I should have known it was not completely human hair because of the price. It was less than $100 for a 16" water wave. I was still devastated at how horribly the wig mated after only having it a few months and only wearing it a few times.

I feel your pain Sis, truth is,sometimes you never can really tell, but from your experience now it’s safe to say that when the price is too good to be true, then we have to know that we most likely won’t get the best value for the amount of money we pay! Having said that, there are also very expensive hair which end up becoming like this, sadly. The goal is to look for reliable hair vendors with good reviews to shop from and I believe there are still some good ones out there.

Hiya! It depends on the. Quality of the hair. High quality bundles do well in hot water but the low quality ones from my experience tend to matte up when put in hot water. I recommend doing a strand test if you are not sure of the quality of the hair before dipping everything in the hot water and Yes, you can do the hot water revamp instead of this method if the hair is good quality. Hi hi, that is why it is important to ensure it is moisturized, that is, apply leave in conditioner and a little serum as dryness is one of the reasons why our hair extensions get tangled in the first place. This one didn’t tangle because I drenched it in leave in conditioner 😅
