One should actually wish for happy accidents. Seems to me that's when the best ideas come to the surface. When they find you rather than trying to make them happy. Requires creative play, though. That's for sure. Thank you, Nancy!

Hi Jamie! This is pretty much how I make my ribbon as well EXCEPT, I just use a cardboard box and throw a bunch in there and spray away. LOL! Sometimes I don't cover the entire ribbon so it looks more like a "tie dye" ... just depends on what I want. Then I just hang mine with big clips I have and let them dry. Very ironically, I told myself last week it was time to make some ribbon so thanks for the reminder! 😊

To avoid the splotchiness color the ribbon in a baggie. Spray inside the bag then put the ribbon in and move it around. I use all kinds of ribbon to cover the spine of my mini albums. Just how I do it.

Pretty colors & ribbons, Jamie! Have you ever tried Copic markers to color seam binding ribbon? I have taken the marker directly to the ribbon and colored it that way. Depending on your color choice you can get a softer color, or combine colors for an ombré effect. I’m with you, pretty stuff makes me happy! I have a question about the Minc machine. How often do you use yours (I’m assuming you have one), and is it a good investment? Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
@JamiePate Жыл бұрын
Patricia! That is so cool. I have to admit, and don't tell anyone, I have never used a Copic marker. Don't own a one. So I would not have even thought of that idea. But now, I want to try the glitter marker I have here from SBC. And yes I do have a Minc machine. It has been a little bit since I have used mine. But it is always out and at the ready. There is a whole new generation of products out now as well as the machine itself has been repackaged. Are you a card maker? I can see you using as a card maker for sure. Loved loved it so much when Heidi first brought it out. That probably does not answer your question. Was just looking at the toner sheets that are available again...I may pick those up! They are fantastic with die cuts and then foiling. They make lovely lovely embellishment pieces. Oh...and then die cut words!!! Hmmm....yeah...lol...you might want. Are you looking at this one? : shrsl.com/4ekvg
@patriciagrisham5938 Жыл бұрын
@@JamiePate To be honest, my Copic marker experience has been only coloring seam binding ribbon! But definitely try the glitter marker. I don’t own any of those. The Minc machine I was looking at is the Heidi Swapp 12 in machine with the folders and tags. I am mostly a card maker and sometimes do treat boxes. I purchased Heidi’s class on the Minc machine a couple of years ago & have her free class, as well. I guess I just want to make sure the Minc won’t become obsolete or that you can’t buy supplies for it. I have machines in my studio that the companies have gone out of business. Remember Making Memories? I have their Slice die cutting machine. What does one do when you get purchase cutting blades?! I think I should take the plunge! But if you’re interested in content ideas for your channel, I’d certainly be interested in anything that uses the Minc. You always make such fantastic embellishments! Have a great week!

@@patriciagrisham5938 I am going to say this on zero authority: if Pink and Main has just re packaged this and is just now selling it, it is gonna be around for a bit again. There is another brand out there that has also been selling their branded Minc. I will have to look that up. Anna Griffin ,I think? SO it's sort of safe to say that yes, it will be around for a bit. And I might do that...it will be a bit though, but reintroduce the Minc and some ideas with that. There are a few Minc videos already on my channel too , just FYI
@patriciagrisham5938 Жыл бұрын
@@JamiePate I have the Anna Griffin minc. I don’t care for it one bit. I guess because all she had was precut/toner embellishments. The foil didn’t seem to do much. It looked like a holographic image. You had to turn it all directions to see it had been foiled. I don’t even think they make it any longer. Yes, you have excellent videos on using the Minc! Such an excellent way to color match the projects!! Does it have to be seam binding? Or can I use any type of ribbon?
@JamiePate Жыл бұрын
I find this seam binding in particular grabs the ink the best. I have tried with other ribbons. The result is not as good. The ink likes the more porous text of that 'seam binding'. But for sure try it on other fabrics and see what you like. Thank you for watching.
