Personally I thought the voiceover was great and would encourage you to do more strategically where you think it would add to the video. On another note, what was up with all the bike racks under the flyover at 9:47? Is something off screen that would warrant so many? Nice job on this vid Brandon!

Nothing to warrant it, but I'll never complain about too much bike parking, even if it doesn't make much sense. 😂

Nice town, and that was - until the highway at the end - a nice cycling path. I'm especially impressed by that bridge over the highway. But in the entire video you were the only one riding a bicycle. I saw no one else. Considering the fact that your town has that infrastructure i would have expected a few others along the way, or perhaps i'm seeing it the wrong way. Greetings from Groningen.

no your right. though that's cause of the temperature.

I'm finding that people in the region don't know how to ride during the winter outside of some of the dedicated sport cyclists. Winter riding just takes some learning and I think many people lack that education. I was fortunate to learn how to winter ride in Minnesota and had locals there share tips with me on how to make it easier and more comfortable.

Great video. In some parts of the video, the path seems quite isolated (from minute 7 to 9). Is it safe to ride, regarding robbery? What about after dark?
@AmericanFietser2 жыл бұрын
I have no concerns about safety after dark here in Carmel. Having said that, I do feel that the main Monon Trail should absolutely have lights on it as not everyone would feel as safe as I do after dark and it's about our most insecure and vulnerable users that design should be focused around. The isolated feeling is just due to the time of day and season. People in the area don't quite know how to get out during winter. The other three season of the year, you see many more people on the trails.

This should be required viewing for transportation planners in University. Bicycles belong. Cities need to do more to encourage safe, clean transportation options.

Nice video, the trail looks so pleasant! Any bike parking at that strip mall in case you did have to run in for something? Or would you just end up locking to a signpost, etc...?
@AmericanFietser2 жыл бұрын
I'm actually not sure. My guess is that there are a few poorly placed racks somewhere, but I was motivated to get out of there as fast as I could. It was not a pleasant place to be outside of a car.

Indiana needs more cities to expand bicycle use by providing protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be able to ride a bicycle safely to school instead of being driven in a minivan.
