Indiana needs more people to speak up for protected bike lanes and trails in their communities.

The bicycle lane at 1:16 really needs to be raised from the main road, given that there's many opportunities for motor vehicles to turn at you in your blind spot.

Yes, I think that quite often. I'm afraid that particular design aspect is still decades away in this city and many others.

I am amazed at the enormous amount of traffic signs. There were more stop signs in this video than I encounter in a month. Also, the bit around 2.40 feels quite Dutch.

Accurate observation, unfortunately.

Nice to see a bike trip in Carmel , the infrastructure looks good , although I do feel that you often cycle on the footpath, or is this shared space ? loved the 20 mph speedsign ( 7.15min) and you're "friendly" respons to the car driver at the Target parkinglot :)

These are multi-use paths. The US is not fortunate enough to regularly have properly designed infrastructure that gives pedestrians and people on bikes a fair piece of the public space pie.

At 10:00 the dog said to his boss "Look, an urban arrow" would be a great meme. Nice video, little fast, but nice.................are that km/h or mph on the display? What are all those little flags for, along the road?

Units are kph. The GoPro footage on a bike is always misleading on speed. So many people who make videos like this get the same comments. The rider is not going as fast as you might think.

What's with all the stop signs on Monon Blvd?

Ha, that is North American brains applying car logic to bikes. I, as well as most others, ignore them and ride with common sense.

Bicycles, ebikes, electric cargo bicycles, robo taxis and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing SAFE, PROTECTED BIKE LANES and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Ride to work, ride to school or ride for fun. Children should be able to ride a bicycle to school without having to dodge cars and trucks. Separated and protected bike lanes are required. It will also make the roads safer for automobile drivers. Transportation planners and elected officials need to encourage people to walk, bike and take public transportation. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. In the future cities will be redesigned for people not cars. Crazy big parking lots will be transformed.
