These videos are great mate, thank you. I'm considering buying a motorbike (Vespa) but I've never ridden one before. I can drive a car, but worried about getting on a motorbike. I'm less worried now thanks to you.

As a beginner scooter rider, I’ve learned a lot from your videos. I was very disappointed when you didn’t cover cornering in any of them as this is an area in which I struggle. Will you be publishing a video on turns an corners soon? Thanks!

Hi - thanks for your kind words. I plan to do more videos as soon as a have a spare weekend (and my cameraman is also free).

Word of warning: after watching this video, I went to do some acceleration and breaking drills. Alternating between back, front and both breaks, I gradually increased my speed and distance to get out of my comfort zone. I crashed when trying just the front break. So a caveat would have been useful to a noob like me. I got some road rash.
@ianwatsons Жыл бұрын
Oh no - so sorry to hear! In my experience as a trainer... many problems occur when beginners grabbing that front brake (in other words "you are not alone").

Which brake should be my go too brake? And what % of each of both??
@ianwatsons2 жыл бұрын
Rear brake for controlling the bike (turns, steading, take off, slowing down, etc.) and then both when I actually want to stop or I need to slow down swiftly.

Yes indeed... only problem is when you stuck in traffic, it is stinking hot, you're wearing protective clothing & you are breathing in fumes. Other than that is fun!

So I use the break similarly like I would use a clutch? I learned how to ride clutch and now I got a big 200kg schooter, and my trottle is jerky and I don't have a clutch to smooth it out. I should do it with the break? It does makes sense....🤔
