I switched to rollers indoor training about a year ago which has helped massively with my pedalling technique and balance on my road bike. The only addition I would add Dave, for any beginners to rollers is to initially put your rollers in between a door frame so if you do vear off to one side your shoulders should bounce off the door frame so you don’t actually fall off the bike….Well that’s the idea anyway👍🏻..great vlog Dave

That’s a good tip to get started.

What do u think about setting up in a hall way? PS I'd like to find a video on practising standing up sitting down. Also doing sprints

I have used rollers with my Brompton for several years to train in winter with and without SPD's. Still need to have a wall. Started off learning in a doorway. I have seen a mad video of a young girl riding onto the rollers, then using a skipping rope then riding off!

Rollers and a Brompton?! That’s rad! I’ve seen the videos…I think her name is Ruby?

Interested in this, I am thinking of getting rollers, but want to use them with my track bike. Would it be impossible to start off with a fixed wheel? I'd like to see you try it...

i ride rollers with track bike and it works very good

I think they are almost better with a track bike, I haven’t tried to start like this before, usually I just start near a worktop.

I have a love/hate relationship with rollers... great for getting smooth pedaling technique but I got mine with the idea of riding zone 2 on them... well that isn't going to happen. Had a high speed dismount (what you call falling off except you manage to stay on your feet so can make it look "stylish") and ended up denting the bottom tube. Fortunately the frame is still straight and rideable, but my fixed gear is now called "Dently". I sold them... made a profit as well... :)

Pretty hard with those rollers too Dave , easier with standard rollers as you had the ones which move forward and back . Well done

Thanks mate, I still need to master it on the track bike.

What you mean? Why not use fixed gear on rollers?

I never see you riding the winspace. Are you not really digging it?

It’s because I took the parts off it to build the Yoeleo.

Get in the big ring - everything gets more stable the faster the wheels are turning.
