Is there a video out there from y’all on how to swap the line release from the right side of the gun to the left? All my previous guns have been on the left and it looks like it should be a possibility.

Great stuff! I would attach a swivel at the end of the mono, just to be able to remove the spear from the line in case the shaft gets stuck in the reef.🤙

Some people attach the reel line to the spear and leave the mono out altogether. Is this wise? Pros and cons?

No pro or cons. A stiff shooting line is less likely to tangle. Dynena is soft and kinda floats and very tangle prone. My Dad and myself have used stainless cable(It sinks inmediatelly) since the 1950's. And on a conventional trolling reel. Speargun reels just hold line. A good drag is necesary, If you shoot cave dwellers, max drag. You try to avoid them geting into the cave, Running fish, drag of and apply as needed. My old Penn 67 holds about 50 mts of stainless. Snap swivel atached to the shooting cable. It will fray or kink eventually and easy to exchange

Agreed. Also, Mono is slightly more pliable than Dyneema and makes wrapping the muzzle and reloading a lot easier.

Nice video. I have a question how can you add a bungee to the same setup
@PullandPray516 күн бұрын
There is no shock bungee in this set up. No longer needed. The drag from the reel is your pressure buffer now.

When I run the shooting line around to the release do I just run it down one side of the reel base?

Can someone please help I have a chareokee 75 but my reel is completely loose and doesn’t seem to tighten please help?

Get a conventional trolling reel. They cost about the same as a speargun reel. Reliable Drag and necesary when shooting cave dwellers, You don't want them stripping line to the cave. Dad and myself have been using them for over 70 yrs

I haven't had time to get my Cressi Cherokee fast 90 under the water yet and the reel has already disintegrated. The cunning Polish distributor said that I used too much force to wind the string 🤦😂🤦😂😭 NO COMMENT!!!. The equipment did not fire a single shot. I disassembled the reel and I have to use it without ... because I have a trip in a few days. Complaints policy will deprive this company of customers.

Get a conventional trolling reel. Same price as the flimsy speargun reels. Once a year maintenance and they last for at least 20 yrs. My Penn 67 is still in working order after 35 yrs. Just saw one on E-Bay for $40. If no reel, attach the gun to the float line
