How to RIG SKIRTED LURES the EASY WAY for beginners!

After crashing our last barcrusher in the last tollgate classic tournament, this time we really thought we had it all together. We THOUGHT we were well prepared and knew what we were doing........needless to say we were WRONG! Didn't crash the boat into a rock, but almost as disappointing.

I know nothing about game fishing but when an albatross bites through your line while hooked up you probably know it's not your day! Crazy. Thanks for the debrief on that. Valuable lessons learnt for all forms of fishing.

Thanks for sharing, love you taking the time to provide learnings for us. I’m trying for my first marlin this season. Raised and hooked a few but still to land one. Contemplating moving to light gauge hooks for a trip but given I’m running 24kg gear sounds like you recommend against? I wonder how much better the hook up rate on stripes are. Most fish here I think are stripes.

Hey no worries. Hook up rate using lures, on stripes is quite low tbh. They bite and explore alot without committing. Yeah light guage on 24, I don't recommend. I've straightened a few doing that, so I don't anymore. Heavy gauge singles are the go, and file the barb's down a bit for easier penetration

“No shit I was disgusted” 😂😂😂 I’d read Pakula’s “ between lines” if I were you Also test every rig with scales before you run them, the mono rig you showed should have chaffing protection around the eye of the hook, use stainless springs ive found them better than the plastic tubing Good on you for posting your failure, not many do 👍
