This is a great video, that's because you have shown what happens when you rig it wrong as well as when you rig it right. Lots of videos are perfectly edited and you only see the finished product with no mistakes. People need to know if and when they go wrong. It's good to see your keeping it real. 🎣😎

I too want to say that I appreciate you not editing out the mistakes. This video is far more informative with the mistakes then had you cut them out. Even your comment about how to judge the placement and depth of the Hook was instructional. As of right now I've never tried to put a hook in a small or for that matter any size worm. I just got everything in the mail today, but have no idea what to do until with them I ran across your video. Thanks again. I'm 77 and just learning how to fish. What a shame I waited so long. I've only caught three fish in three years. In spite of that, I enjoy the hell out of fishing. " Tight lines as the expression goes. "

Ink....I clip a small split shot on a light O ring, and add a hook or a Yum Ned Dinger or a TRD. Stands straight up on any bottom rocks.

Yup you can use the TRD as the bottom on drop shot. Instead of the cylinder weight. Use the Ned and use a minnow as the drop shot bait. 2 for one.

Nice video! YESTERDAY I decided to switch from "plastisol" to Elaztech exclusively. Gave hundreds of my old plastics to my fishing buddy. Your weedless options are fantastic. Love the TRD but do get hung in grass, so I'll be using those! Thanks! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

Great video. I fish the Ned rig pretty much everytime I fish at some point. What I can tell you is that rigged on the TRD head they will get hung . Rigged on the weedless head , they will get hung. I've lost countless ned rigs. Thanks for showing the Texas rigged option.

If you use a peg give the the weight some room. I normally put my bobber stop about two to three inches above my hook. The bait will cast just the same and all zman baits will float that 2-3 inches over the muck. Add a glass bead and hold on for dear life lol. Vmc drop shot hooks are the best drop shot hooks on the market hands down. Those hooks shown on the drop shot are amazing for wacky rig and neko rig. Those are my favorite two hooks for finesse overall.

I bought a lot of cyber-flexxx when Strike King came out with it. I found that it was very sticky once it got wet, algae clung to it. I'm much happier with the new elaztech formula. Nevertheless, the Ned rig craze has prompted me to pull out those old cyber-flexxx baits.
@hooksetsarefree
@hooksetsarefree 5 жыл бұрын
I imagine the cyber-flexx would be best closest winter when the algae and grass are down. But I've heard many people say they get more bites when their elaztech is more beat up, ripped up, starting to get sticky like you're taking about, etc.
@michaelfischerbassmaster
@michaelfischerbassmaster 5 жыл бұрын
@@hooksetsarefree Elaztech certainly seems more firm than cyber-flexxx. I will do a side-by-side comparison the next time I hit the water and I'll let you know the results. I will let the bass decide. 🎣

Love the Ned! One comment on TRD rigging: on the non-laminate (one color) baits, following the seam is ok. On the laminates e.g. green Pumpkin/orange, or others with a lighter and darker combination, rigging with the darker side on top more likely resembles something lifelike or natural. What do you think of a Carolina rigged TRD?
@hooksetsarefree
@hooksetsarefree 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out Don, I see what you mean and how I technically rigged the Coppertreuse one upside down. I think a Carolina rigged TRD could be deadly too, good suggestion!

Even more appropriate than the Carolina rig, especially in shallow water and in weeds. Mojo is better for finesse anyway, light gear and light line and smaller baits like the TRD. Thanks for the comment Dennis!

How much action do you get with such a big EWG hook that sits so far back in the body of the TRD? Wouldn't a smaller 1 or 1/0 EWG hook provide more action. Also, with elaztech being so soft my guess is you still would get great hooksets with the TRD body squeezing during the hookset.

What size jig would you recommend for a 2.75 inch?
@hooksetsarefree
@hooksetsarefree 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Will, I recommend a 1/10 oz Z-Man Finesse ShroomZ jig for most applications. If using other brands, 1/8 oz will work, but going lighter to 1/16 is best for shallower water and will snag the bottom much less frequently!

I bought the Finesse TRD, has bands on one end and knubs on the other. Which end goes up against the mushroom head?
@hooksetsarefree
@hooksetsarefree 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis, the end with the bands (which should be slightly fatter) is where the mushroom head should be rigged. The knubs are on the tail end of the bait, where the shape altogether slightly tapers off. Hope that makes sense.
