hey! i am also a female and just got my Eagle Scout! I am also a Girl Scout and totally relate to being confused about how to roll a neckerchief! My absolute favorite way to roll one takes 3 people, you'll have one person holding the ends of the triangle super tight (I tell them to act like they're playing tug of war) and then you'll go in the middle, and start rolling the neckerchief from the middle down. I roll it in super super tight rolls (the tighter you roll, the tighter the neckerchief strands will end up) and then when you get to the end (just above the logo) tell your helpers to just drop their ends (you'll still be holding it in the middle) and then you'll shake the neckerchief out quickly (kinda snap it down dowards the ground) and then you'll have super tight rolls and this will last you for a while! hope that was helpful and happy scouting!

Very good. From experience a way to make it look better is not use the knot and just bend the backing of the slide towards the pendant of it.

In my over 50 years in Scouting, I never saw such a slow way to fit a neckerchief...hahahahaha !! We grabbed it by the ends...whipped it around 4 -5 times , tightened up the neckerchief by grabbing the point end in our teeth and gently tugging it firm...put it around our necks, put on the slide ,bent in the tongs if needed...end of subject...no needless overhand knot...hahahahahaha !!!!

If you are going to tie a knot in the scarf I suggest you tie a friendship knot, not a reef knot, as the friendship knot is affiliated with scouting and looks better when you tie it. If your Scout has lost his/her woggle then you could tie it smartly with a bowline knot (I am not sure if the name is correct but it sounds similar) which is common amongst sea scouts.

I cheated a little, once it was the right size I put a few threads through the roll, for washing I just throw them into a mesh bag before putting them in the washer. You can also use thin strips of Badge Magic throughout the necker.

Please do not tie a knot in the neckerchief. 1. It is not the proper way to wear it. 2. It causes a potential choking hazzard.
