Nice. Love the lowered AOV, shows what's going on clearly.

Can hone with a Belgian blue .with different slurry stones?

As far as I know, BBW are slower and a bit more rough than a coticule. Were you going to use (two years ago, I mean) the nagura technique?

Dr Matt, as you roll the razor are you keeping the spine in the area just behind the edge being sharpened in contact with the stone?
@drmatt3574 жыл бұрын
J Fangio - yes, always keep the spine in contact with the stone.

Is that a 20k suehiro stone on the blank next to it? If it is, have you had much success honing a razor with such a narrow stone?

Good eye Max! Yes, it's a 20k Suehiro and no, it's not problem honing on something that narrow. Only need 20 passes or so, so it's simple. Comes from Ken Schwartz. $80 VS $300 for the full size stone.

+drmatt357 I tried doing some honing with my 16k glass edgepro stone but I could it hard to keep the razor square on it.

I don't think I'd care shaving with a razor like that. Probably easier honing something like that than shaving with it😳

Funny you say that Mark. I thought the same thing so I had to try and shave with it. Surprisingly, it worked pretty normal like most other razors.

drmatt357 Did you have to stand on your head when you shaved😝. I learned that stroke for a razor I found. It had so much hone wear there was hardly any spine. I now use it for opening packages and letters.
