This method still works, as of 25th May 2021. I have a Mi Max 2, with custom rom (LineageOs 17.1 which is unofficial), and this method works. I tried the Super SU method before, it didn't work, but this one sure does work. Great tutorial dude. Earned a like.

One more easier method is to just flash magisk 21.4 . When you will open magisk manager, It will show update on main screen. And a direct install method will be there. This will be helpful and no errors will be occured

Hi, this tutorial doesn't work for me. I've gotten to boot loop everytime. I think there is a problem with the unofficial TWRP, but I can't say for sure. I am gonna try to install Magisk without custom recovery. Just to be clear, last tutorial with enabling bootloader worked great, but this one no. I do not reccommend trying it, because it took me a lot of time to figure out how to solve it xdd If you have same problems like me, just shutdown. Plug phone into the computer, then press Volume up and power buttons. When the warning menu appers press only Volume up for up to 3 seconds. This should open a Huawei recovery for you, where you can download the old firmware back.

Had Magisk 21.4 installed with Magisk Manager 8.0.7 I downloaded Magisk 22.apk and just installed (updated) it and voila! It works! Poco F1 (Evolution X 4.7 + NGK)

After you have falshed Magisk: Go to the Magisk file which you changed the name from .apk to .zip. Change this file back to APK and then click on it. Allow it to run and it should work then. The steps are outlined in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZCYdqB_iKqdaMk&ab_channel=TechKaran
