Worked just fine for me! For those saying it didn't work, make sure you have your device drivers installed. My phone was a Virgin Mobile/Sprint Galaxy SIII if that made a difference :)

i followed your steps very closely. downloaded the zip file (now it has 2 additional files for unroot) then when i click the saferoot, the command prompt asked "Do you want to install busybox in your phone? [Y/N]" i pressed y and pressed enter. they then ask me to plug in my phone and press any key to continue. i pressed any key and they showed some messages and immediately closes the command prompt. so i did what you said. try again. but it always happens over and over again. keeps on closing.

kendytan91 Why would you root your phone if you have no idea what it does? Want to know what rooting does? It gives you the freedom to control your phone more, while at the same time not only voiding your warranty, but also running the risk of "bricking" (making it where your phone no longer works, either by not coming back on ever, or getting stuck in a bootloop) your phone, which means you'll have to purchase a new phone since you would have just voided your warranty.

So I am still nervous using this method. I also have Android 4.3, but I think the more limiting factor is the Build number. I noticed the person in the video has the build number ending with MK3. I have the one ending in NC1. I think from some of my research that the NC1 build number is the more limiting one. Can you speak to this issue Qbking77?

Hello Tim, awesome video as it is very thorough & easy to follow. I however encountered an issue that I prob. created before I followed your video. I tried the old root method w.Odin where I had to put my Galaxy in "download mode." I thought it worked correctly but then my SUPERSU app (w.was installed w.that process) wouldnt open nor would it update. Anyhow, I followed your video & everything worked correctly yet I had the same issue when I clicked on the SUPERSU app this time. Im not sure what to do now & feel like I should start from scratch. My phone was previously rooted with CWM. it stopped working. I used superSU to "remove root" and try again. I followed all your instructions, and when I got to the part, "Super SU will open" it didn't. To make sure my version was working, I downloaded the latest version of Super SU from play store,installed it, and when I opened it said "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem! If you just upgraded to android 4.3, you need to manually re-root. consult relevant forums, for your device!" This is from all accounts due to the inability to install an updated binary. or something. Can you help! It was all going so well! Thanks for your help. P

I have a qestion. I don't remember how I did it, but I changed the model number Sc-02C in order to play dbz tap battle. Now I can't update the phone with kiel or anything, and I tried to format the whole thing, but It's still Sc-02C, and my phone is stuck with 4.0.4 and no matter what I do, it won't update, and 4.3 won't show up after rooting the phone. is there something I can do to fix this?

Once I was trying to get ADB (from Eclipse) to work with my Samsung Galaxy S3. It wouldn't work, so I reinstalled the Samsung phone drivers (the file I had on the disk actually had the same name as the one you're instructing to use) For a while this made debugging work, but from that point on my laptop has failed to recognize the phone as a media device or USB mass storage device. I fiddled with it some more, reinstalling the driver a couple more times. Nothing works now. As far as my laptop is concerned, my phone (and any other phone I tried) is dead. My phone refuses to do anything more than charge when connected to my laptop. The phone works with other computers. My laptop also works with all other types of USB devices, (flash drives, external HDD, printer) but it seems to be living in a universe where phones (and my eBook reader) no longer connect to PCs via USB. My phone was already rooted at that point, so I said fuck it, installed WiFi ADB, and had been debugging via WiFi. But when my Android updated, the phone got un-rooted, and WiFi ADB no longer works (it tells me it needs root access). All the methods for rooting my phone I've found so far require USB connection to PC. So I'm stuck. Do you have any advice on how to fix this?

make sure you extract the zip before running the batch file. i tried running it from the zip file and it failed immediately and closed. once i extracted to another folder, it worked flawlessly.
