Troy, I have just watched a series of linked videos and by god you have put a lot of work into them. So easy to follow as they are patiently, calmly and clearly explained. It's a pleasure learning from you - thank you very much.

Perhaps just a reminder of what most of us should know but extremely helpful since so many mid/high handicappers don't do this well. As you say, this isn't an "artificial" move so always a little puzzling to me that what we do naturally in other sports or in throwing, seems to be so much more difficult in golf. The benefit you pointed out of rotation enabling the club face to stay square longer through the impact zone is so important. Without rotation manipulating the club with the wrists/hands so that the face is square at impact is something very few of us can do on a consistent basis.

Thanks Pete, yes it's strange how we often forget what should come naturally as it does in other sports. Trying to keep it as simple as possible is best. Cheers

I having been playing golf for 50 years and I am a 15 handicap and 67 years old….when I was learning the game there was no instruction available to the average golfer unless you were wealthy and could take lessons from a club pro….so it was simple…keep your head down and shift your weight period….now we can learn the entire golf swing online….your one of the better instructors online however what I don’t understand why instructors do not teach a system of learning online…start simple and add to the swing as the student improves….

Great tuition Troy. That side on impact position key to great ball striking eh?
@Hittingitsolid4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Garry, yeah, it's a big part of it. Something I'm continually working on. I heard many instructors say you cannot be too open in the downswing. Just need to combine it with shallowing and you're in good shape. Cheers

Don't forget the side bend or you'll be pulling the ball all day. Great video, thanks.

Yes, that’s important as well

In tennis you actually slow your body rotation right before impact to send your arm forward faster like a sling shot.

Very good video! I like that you show it many angles 👍 I undrestand that you get straigt shots when you rotate your body and clubface stays squore. However it feels lot off effort to rotate your body. To me it feels much easier to use club weight and let the club rotate and release. Offcource more clubface rotation but you get also nice draws with easy speed. What do you think about these different release styles?
@Hittingitsolid4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jukka, thank you very much. If it feels easier and you're getting good results I'd continue with using the club weight letting the club rotate more. Just remember you'll need to time your hands better to ensure striking the ball consistently. Cheers

@@Hittingitsolid Thank you for answer 👍 I let the gravity do the timing, so it's not my fault if i miss the green 😉

I think using the term of Opening Up your hips is misleading and confusing to the mind….it’s really rotating with foot pressure isn’t it?
@Hittingitsolid3 жыл бұрын
Hello, yeah it does involve rotating with foot pressure. Opening up the body is a common phrase used in golf instruction. I usually like to say rotating the hips or rotating the shoulder open to clarify it a bit more. Cheers
@pohoresky3 жыл бұрын
What you don't say is that one does not want to swing through impact with the arms and hands but rather rotate with the body through impact. I think that is the point of the video is it not?
@Hittingitsolid3 жыл бұрын
Hi Harold, yes, that is correct. Cheers

You hsve some very good content even though most of it is from other instructors... But the best tip I can give you is stop dragging the videos out cut out all the snippets of pros hitting balls . After 8 or 9 mins most viewers will probably turn and move onto the next video . And don't take my word for it youtube itself actually come up with this data... Good luck with your channel
