How to Round Corners on Photos or Images in Photoshop. In this video we will explore using the shape tool Rounded Rectangle and look at radius options. While there is more than one way to round corners in Photoshop, this is by far the easiest and fastest way to round corners in Photoshop.

You can make your rounded rectangle flexible and not have to delete part of the image by placing the rectangle below the image, holding ALT and clicking between the two layers to mask the image to the shape. That way, you can modify the corners of the rectangle without having to start over every time. The masking process is a lot faster and more flexible. Also, if you are using this for web, do NOT round your image. This will force you to save a PNG which is very large in size. Instead, apply a border radius (CSS) to a non-rounded jpeg image. You will love this method becasue you wont have to create a new image if you need to adjust the roundness of the corners.

I'm so confused. It worked the first time, but the radius was wrong. When I did the same thing again it wont work and says "content of the layer is not directly editable". Why does Photoshop make everything so complicated!? There should just be a slider for this...

I have the latest version of Photoshop and there is no rounded rectangle tool! Only the rectangle tool.

use the rectangle tool and in the settings menu on the right side you will find the controls to round the edges of the rectangle

I get the marching ant around the picture but when I try to delete I get the following error "Could not complete the task because the content of the layer is not completely editable". I am on the latest version of PS which doesn't even have the rounded rectangle. I need to know how to get the transparent corners.

Not actually sure what the problem is, but what comes to mind is that your layer is a background layer and is locked. If that is the case, rename the layer so it can be unlocked.

You could experience this because it is a smart object. rasterize both layers and try again.
