It's amazing how little recent info. there is on AVID to do this properly on YT. Well done. May many DIT's watch your videos and prosper, as to not get slapped by Finishing for still using fixed 16x9 DNX36 for offline Editorial. Subbed

@squirekev - Thank you so much! 🙏 I’m really glad you found the video helpful. It’s true that up-to-date info on AVID can be hard to find, so I’m happy to share tips that help DITs and editors stay on track with the latest workflows. Appreciate the sub, and if there’s anything specific you’d like to see covered, feel free to let me know!

When DaVinci makes a sequence out of your clips, are the original timecodes from the masterclips lost and new TC reflecting the sequence TC are what you're editing with? Thanks
@Januseditmaster6 күн бұрын
When you create a sequence (timeline) in DaVinci Resolve from your clips, the original timecodes from the master clips are not lost. Each clip retains its original source timecode, which you can reference in the Edit page using the metadata panel or the source viewer. The original clip timecodes are still accessible if needed. Hope this helps!

Hello when we put the LUT for Slog3 on Davinci and we transcode it to AVID, can we color grade afterwards on Davinci with the Slog3 ?
@JanuseditmasterАй бұрын
Hi! Great question! If you apply a LUT to your S-Log3 footage in DaVinci Resolve before transcoding it to AVID, the footage will no longer be in its original S-Log3 format-it will have the LUT baked in, which transforms it to a more standard color space (e.g., Rec.709). This makes it more difficult to perform extensive color grading later, as the dynamic range and flexibility of the original S-Log3 footage are reduced. However, it’s totally fine to bake in the LUT if that works better for your workflow, as shown in part 2 of this video. You can always relink back to the original media in DaVinci Resolve for full-color grading flexibility with the original S-Log3 footage. Just remember to keep the original files in the same location to ensure a smooth relinking process. I hope this helps! If it was helpful, please subscribe and like the video-it really supports the channel! 😊
