yo could u please explain how much is difficulty offset 1 i mean how much is it in the game slider is it 0,2 the default or 1 the max ? also the night time scale is 2 which means 2 times faster night or is it the default ?

For help with .exe not showing up and being able to save .bat file without the .txt extension Windows 10 1. search for file explorer options and 2. click on the view tab 3. then uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"

Dont know if anyone still looking here but it works best if you just set up your dedicated server through the steam UI then copy/paste the run commands from that one over. Also i havent been able to get any changes to the Game.ini folder to register in server after its running.

Does this work for the Epic store version of the game? I can start the server, but any attempts to launch the game after result in ~2 seconds of music and then nothing.

Not sure what doesn't work on your end, as I've managed to make it work. Just add -crossplay to the end of the "start ShooterGameServer..." line. I'm hosting it on the same machine I play on though, and am experiencing a LOT of rubberbanding, while no one else is.

I had this problem myself but just ignored it and played, I found that after you play on your server once it will then work but only on MySurvivors. I don't mind my server being on MySurvivors but if you want an UnOfficial server I don't know how to fix the problem.

Open a Port on your router. Open Internet Explorer, type in your IP adress, login to your router and add port forwarded. Copy these port numbers (example: Port:2475) into the .bat file. You should have open port and close port numbers.

He said to sort out the servers by ping, your server should be the one with the lowest ping, as it's running from your computer :)

Shouldn't. If you did something wrong with opening the ports/didn't do that at all, the server should start up normally. It would just not be possible to connect from outside your network

I've never encountered the need for a host range. Are you trying to play outside the country? Also if friends are having trouble finding it, have them right click you on their friends list and join game.

When you create a non-dedicated server it has host range so I was wondering if the dedicated server would have host range. I am not trying to play out of the country all of my friends and I are in the same town.

I've found the folder. I made the bat file. (just copied from the comments) changed the gamename, changed the passwords. Launch bat file. The end line says Server: "X" has successfully started! But i cant find the server when i launch the game. any suggestions? Anything I've missed? I found my server tho, it shows up under LAN listing with all the settings working.. i can join it but none of my friends can, it tells them "server not responding". i did the port forwarding through my router but the server seems to not hit the internet.

Currently I just created an Xbox gamertag thats not using the same email as my daily play account. Since its created as a guest on my xbox, it still has access to Ark, but does not require Live Gold membership. I sign that tag into the xbox app on my pc, while my main daily play account is logged into windows store so I can run my free W10 copy of Ark, being its shared from Xbox purchase history. What happens when I run player dedicated is my PC is purely to host, as my guest Host gamertag, and I can play from my xbox with all my friends that way. Thats currently the only way we all play though. Im just now trying to learn how to dedicate host Steam while playing on Steam because Xbox is never working correctly without crashing, and gets the shaft to the point Im no longer even looking at the next gen consoles. Theyve failed to uphold the quality of Live services and Wildcard breaks the game with every tiny update on Xbox. Last 2 days all of us time out from my server every 5 min, like at genesis launch. Started happening the minute we downloaded the Fear update, which was already 5 days later released to XB than it was to all other systems. Pretty sure all of us are moving to Steam by the end of the year.

I'm not sure... if crossplay is enabled then you would need a PC version and then just connect with Xbox. But Xbox also has the ability to launch a server from the game itself. I don't play on Xbox though.

Right click in the ark folder, then click new notepad, then paste this in and change the names and passwords. start ShooterGameServer "TheIsland?SessionName=GameServerSetup?QueryPort=27015?ServerPassword=MyPassword?ServerAdminPassword=MYPassword?Port=7777? then click "save as" and under the name of the file when you are saving it, click the dropdown and selecs all file types and then change the name to "server.bat". then you have your .bat file!

your still able to deside the map when the thing pops up right also when you close it dose it stop everything and you just have to start it up when you want more people to play with maybe have strangers I have a friend I play with but want to add more but I wont have any strangers to interact with maybe keep them in check to make sure they cant attack me ever make sure they can never reach high stuff unless I give it to them lol I'm sure that too deep but as I was saying you would still be able to pick a map like you do with your file bat thing and set the settings for things right? and...all you would have to do is make sure everyone knew you wouldn't want to have your pc run the server so when you go to bed the server shuts down for till you decide to reopen it?

Yes just add ?GameModIds=EnterModIDhere,AnotherModID the mod IDs are on the steam workshop. NOTE: Subscribe to mod through workshop and download them to get them to work.
