First test of my Snow Joe was a massive blizzard that dropped 20+ inches of snow with drifts well over 3ft. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN This snow thrower is definitely not designed for this much snow but it powered through it. We did have to knock down taller drifts with a shovel and at times the chute was awkward because snow banks were much higher than it could throw, but still much easier than shoveling. The plus side of the small size is the maneuverability. Easy to lift up to walkways and works in tight spaces near cars. Highly recommend.Note: after assembling it started but did not turn. The belt wasn't in place. Easy fix.

Nice video. Thanks. A couple of questions: 1) Is it better to drain the gasoline at the end of the season, or to keep tank full, add gas stabilizer, and start the blower periodically throughout the summer? 2) Is it okay to use ethanol gasoline? I don't myself. I've heard ethanol is bad for these types of engines.

Thanks for the video. Did I break the machine if i forgot to turn the knob back to original shown at 4:29 in this video. The machine just ran for like a minute or two then stopped. I though it run out of gas so I pumped in. Machine worked again then stopped in another minute or so. I realized I probably forgot to turn the knob. I stopped and waited to turn on the machine but never got back to work after several attempts. I did wait for a few minutes for another try though.

Thank you for the video. I had attempted to use the electric starter,and my snowblower started right up. After I turned the choke to the run position, the machine died whenever I depressed the auger control handle. I had used the snowblower a few days prior without this problem.Was wondering if I am missing a step.
@jcolandscaping58677 жыл бұрын
+Richard Gorman make sure your machine is running at full throttle and when you first start it up leave the choke on for 10-15 seconds and let the machine warm up after that slowly move the choke to the run position and let the machine warm up for another 15 seconds then you should be fine

I looked in my manual I have the storm 2410 two stage gas powered troy bilt and to turn in while it is running, looks like (according to manual..) there should be 2 levers on the underside of both L & R handles, I do not have that. If you have time, run to Lowes and grab a pair of 'Arnold skid shoes' for $25.... Or even better the roller skids that have a little wheel in the middle, but my Lowes doesn't stock those, argh. They're a long poly "ski" that slides easier, and adjusts for height. They're longer, smoother, and have more surface area than the crappy stock skids, so they're way better for gravel or other uneven surfaces. And after you wear down one side you just flip it and use the other side. The roller type are supposedly he best, because they don't really wear at all (becaus they roll, not slide). They have a sealed stainless steel bearing, they're pretty nice @ $35, and I would have gotten them if they were in stock. SatanMart has them for $27, but again, not in stock here, and you need a hot shower and a therapy session after you leave, so the savings isn't worth it. The 'Arnold Universal Skid Shoes' fit almost every machine out there, (anything with the 2 skid bolts between 2 3/4"-3" iirc), I just put them on this same model- Stom 2410

I highly recommend replacing the stock skids for gravel or unpacked, etc. See my reply to another viewer above for more details. I used the 'Arnold universal skid shoes' made of black poly, from Lowes @ $25. Takes literally 5 minutes to install with just a socket wrench (you could use a monkey wrench even, if you had to). If you read about this machine on gravel (or even just sidewalks with cracks) the stock skids do not cut it. Hope this helps.

Beastmode12211: Regarding "oil all the time" (...?) You have to add gas to the gas tank (better to use ethanol-free gas) and check the level of oil in the oil tank - just like a car. You probably know this, but thought I'd mention it, just in case.

Hi JCO, might want to reshoot this video. Pretty hard to hear you and maybe have the blower out of the garage already, so you don;t have to do that. Also, don;t put your hands in the blades, even when it is off, as people don;t know that blades can still spin even when it is off. Too many fingers and hands to get sewn back on here in the Colorado! Thanks

Thanks for the video, I too had never used a snowblower, and picked up this model at Lowes. To be fair, and constructive- I did have my iPad volume all the way up and I couldn't really hear you well. You do a little bit of that thing that all teenagers do (I did too) where you kinda mumble and don't project your voice. Don't be shy about speaking up, what you have to say is important, valid, intelligent, etc. People will be like "wow, that kid is really assertive and articulate, very mature" Its like the verbal version of the firm handshake- it makes people trust you, respect you, listen to you. Good for job interviews, college, dating, and just life. Sorry, that turned into a motivational speech! I appreciate the vid, the snow is coming down as we speak.
