How to run diagnostic tests of residuals in panel data analysis using STATA

Hi, i enjoyed the video and found it very helpful.. Although i'm a bit confused, so for this panel data you used Fixed Effect regression model to then find the residuals, but how do you know if the FE is the best instead of PLS or RE? Does normality test comes first or does the Chow test, etc comes first? Or do you use the FE temporarily just to find the residuals and normality test, and then afterwards you use the chow test etc for the rest of the analysis? Thank you..
