The tag on the oil fill tube clearly shows you are supposed to dip the dipstick until the threads contact to check the oil level and not to screw it in.

The manual and tag on the mower calls for 10W-30 oil as most recommended.

When you unbox your 4 stroke they will normally give you a bottle of oil that has the same amount as what should go into the mower. Normally 600ml for your average sized mower, After starting the mower you want to keep the throttle in the start position for about 30seconds to let the engine warm up, then you can put it to the run and start mowing.

+IIGrayfoxII No not really. I looked at a few and none of them came with oil. Plus difference engine sizes need more or less. I have a 192cc so needed more.

+Todd's Kitchen Just bought a mower a couple days ago and it came with a bottle of oil. Obviously some manufacturers include it and some don't. Ryobi is a lower end tools and hard equipment manufacturer so I wouldn't expect them to throw in extras.

That sound when you first fill it with oil is the escaping air form the PCV valve I think

You say to check the specifications to make sure you are using the correct oil and yet you are putting SAE-30 oil into a mower that specifies 10w-30.

bunnings the catcher is not the greatest great on mulching good power nice mower but if you have reasonable length of grass or a touch of moister the catcher blocks up

The tag on your mower said use 10W30 , you put in SAE30 .

SAE 30 is identical to 10W30 unless you start your lawn mower under 47 degrees Fahrenheit. 10W means the oil is heavier in "W"inter conditions. At hot temperatures, the 30 weight is identical.

The 10W means it behaves as a lighter oil in the cold, like a SAE 10.

That dipstick housing is a dissgrace mine fell off it was stuck on and cant be fixed , Next problem where do I start Carburettor it goes on and on its endless R and D plus Quality Control must be non existent in both design and assembly; Nearly as bad as Best Green made in Italy ,
