Nice weathering you do. You should let the sandpaper soak in the water for a while before using it. I just leave mine in all the time. It helps.

Another option is to use the red/rust primer, then gray or black primer, followed by base coat. That way, when you're sanding it down it has a little more before hitting the plastic as well as the realistic fade from rust to paint. Especially on roof and hood panels, it isn't always straight to rust. It's alot like the guys putting fake patina on real cars.. You can also hit the whole thing with flat clear when it's all done. I really like the work you're doing. It's got me wanting to get back into modeling. Thanks.

Paint it red, add rust around the fenders it would look like the 1970 Ford pickup truck I owned when I turned 16 back in 87

Thanks for the tutorial Matt. That 71 PU looks great. I’ve got an old AMT Dodge Ram D-50 kit that I was doing a drag truck ( Little Red Wagon style) but kind of lost interest. I'm actually startin the 66 F100 4X4, thinkin of makin it like a farm truck, I'm thinkin of goin very minimal on the Chrome. maybe the door handles, taillights and keepin some chrome on the mirror faces to simulate a mirror effect. Maybe the upper side trim but with some rust on it, the rest, like the bumpers grille and window trim and wipers will be stripped and or primed and painted white. Any idwas on how to get hay bales and some small plastic or resin imitation sacks for like feed sacks?

are you going to build the dodge pickup into a 4wd truck please try it it's not hard or you can builda amt 55 pickup or the amt 57 pickup into a 4wd you just need a amt 78 ford for part's take the front leaf spring's for the front for the amt 55 or amt 57 the pickup not the cameo pickup please let me know thank you wayne let's do something diffenfent sorry about my spelling i love your work and video

Great video. Im trying to replicate the 65 vw bug i had in high school in 1987. It was lowered super low, like almost undrivable low. Have you ever modified a kit to make it a lowrider? I cant figure it out. Im using the tamiya 1966 beetle kit..
