Oh my goodness, Marcy. Thanks so very much. I have a listing of my paints on my iPhone for when I go to Michael’s but these charts are a game changer. I just downloaded both PDF’s. Your “how to’s” are so helpful. I had no idea this info existed.

Thank you! Very helpful. I don't know color theory, never took an art class ever :-) I actually bought a color wheel about 5 yrs ago when pour painting was my medium. I never really got the hang of it. Now that I create dot mandalas, I typically just choose colors that please MY eye. Nice to know I can go to the website of my favorite paint and find all these charts! My 'eye' doesn't always follow proper color theory, lol

Thanks for this video. I use these charts when trying to find compatible colors and do a lot of cross-referencing, trying to drill down to more compatibility across colors. Does anyone know the meaning of the paint numbers? I'm assuming the "DA" is Deco Art. Does the number system indicate the hue, saturation, and brightness of color?

Excellent question! So if they have a # sign and number following it, its the hex color code. for an example: #fbfdfb, This is the code that in a paint program like photoshop you can make that true color on the computer. I actually made every hex color of deco art so I can play around with the colors in my photoshop program. On the shading and highlighting chart its a little different with the DA number, I've looked and cannot find that reason. I'm thinking possibly an inventory number? But i really don't know.
