Is simple, but it is a very important and basic signal of respect and safety

Another mistake i see a lot is when people are not using a knife or navigation equipment etc. is they put it on the ground .. it can then easily be lost or even forgotten about

My knife is my tool! And I really don't like to share my tools with anybody! I don't even share my allen key with people just in case they don't know how to use the Allen key! If they know how to use these tools then they should have their own tools. If they really need to do something important I am happy to do it for them myself instead of allowing them to use my tools! I reached this outlook due to past experience!

I keep a cheap folding knife if I'm in a situation where I may need to share and always pass it folded. My knife is expensive and my sharpest child, and I don't trust that anyone will use it properly including my own husband!

Hi what do you think about the superstition about you should never hand a knife, hand to hand instead place it on a surface and let the other person pick it up, or two will get into a fight
@originaloutdoors3 жыл бұрын
I have never heard of that before. I like collecting superstitions though - A Swedish guy got very angry with me when I tried to compare hand size with him. Apparently that means death...

@@originaloutdoors Oh ahaha, yeah I heard about that hand size thingy. I'm suprised you havent heard the one I said its more like a greek culture thing

My family tradition is we are not allowed to hand a knife to another person and if we do it must be closed if its a folder or in its sheath if its a fixed and its never to be given hand to hand but hand to object to hand. Its just something Ive always done, it drives my wife nuts when we are doing dishes.

That's not a terrible strategy.

So you're not supposed to throw it at them? That must be why all my buddies keep getting stabbed...

I'll add that technique into the next video😂

Seems absolutely lethal! My daughter has just been taught this st scouts and shown me; I’m horrified! A sharp blade pointing straight at her torso?? What if the other person trips or stumbles? The knife would be pressed into the torso. Ridiculous!
@originaloutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you're getting at here
@WeavesUK2 жыл бұрын
@@originaloutdoors read what I wrote, children shouldn’t have knives pointing at the body, horrendous.
@originaloutdoors2 жыл бұрын
If you're pointing the knife towards your torso then you aren't doing it as safely as you could be.

@@originaloutdoors I’m talking about my 11 year old daughter showing me this method she was taught at Scouts this week…clearly poorly taught and this is the point it shouldn’t lead to ‘getting it wrong’ by kids.

Just set it down and let them pick it up sounds pretty much infallible.
