Great review been looking for a thermal that won’t break the bank and this fits the bill. Just one question. Is the actual view slightly better through the scope? As you were showing it through the pard and then I’m seeing it on my device I’m guessing the picture degrades slightly. Great vid mate like to see more from your channel

Canadian Army gave a Goretex liner leather and fleece "Cold Wet Weather Glove" with a large gauntlet that made a magnificent funnel. To make it even better the liner was sewn in so you could dry it. Canadians are always so polite, they described the project as "they meant well ..."

I want to do this walk for the feeling afterwards. Always been scared of heights, but it doesn’t stop me taking on the mountains. Currently the only real “scrambling” experience I have is climbing up the side of Glastonbury Tor (not on the path) and I don’t think that will cut it XD

Yesterday I found one of your axe using videos, and I have to say, you are an exellent explainer, and you really put safety first no matter what. As a girl, I have never studied how to use an axe safely, but thanks to you, now I can try again, and countinue learning bushcraft from your videos. I wish you would make more and more! :D

How things have changed! I did all this stuff in the Seventies and never thought about it! We didn't have mobile phones with GPS then, we just had your compass and map. No need for all the drama!!!

Thank you very much for your independent review! I'm orientating which one suits my needs and there's a lot of them to choose from. Looking for a budget model this one came to my attention. I'm surprised to see the i/r clarity is quit poor, the thermal image of you consists of a lot of lines acutally. Therefore I think I'll forget buying a thermal monocular because it takes more money to buy something good than I'm willing to pay for at this moment. Good reiew!!

The kneeling technique is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm helping run a Scout session with axes, knives and saws - as helpful as the drawings and text are in the Scout briefings it's always good to see it "live". Thanks a lot.

Thank you so much for this video. I have really appreciated how you've kept safety paramount, it is most important at all times that everyone gets home safe and sound. Also the keen focus on ethics regarding target selection and the associated considerations of habitat and environment accordingly. Cheers, all the best.

Thumbnail shows a typical safe way to split and or chop but I didn't see it mentioned in your video. Good job though, there are a lot of fake survival bushcraft channels who are not even using the axe properly.

I don’t understand how this route could be included in any video as a “trail run”. This is all about mountain climbing. Not even a hike. Where’s the running? Where’s even the walking, which is included in a an “ultra”?

Huge swathes of people these days are infinitely less intelligent than a fart who blindly venture into the unknown, or anything highly dangerous and potentially fatal. If you’re contemplating this, you need to have above average physical strength in your legs, arms, and hands; plus you body weight needs to be as low as possible ie 10 Stones if you’re an adult, so that should you be in the unfortunate situation where you are hanging off with your hand, you can haul yourself up to safety. Lastly you need a pair of decent hiking boots, and suitable leather gloves. if you don’t have all of the above don’t attempt it.

The view might be realistic due to the lens used; but it doesn’t change the fact that if one fell off either side one would suffer a horrific death. I had to switch off this video after 3 minutes as it gave me vertigo whilst seated in my armchair.

Cheers Richard. I've just bought a used one. The model wasn't named and I kinda hoped. it was the Kestral. Turns out it's a Woodlark. I'm still chuffed with it, as it will be great for hardier use. After seeing your video, I'm still happy as my head isn't like a Melon 😉 It's in the wesher at the moment and will try some Grangers or Nikwax to give it some assistance. Being quite old, is it still in use? Respectful Regards Chiseller 👍

While much of what you say may be relatively true for the weekenders use I have arthritis in my hands and can't use those wonderful strikers without intense discomfort due to their small size. A knife handle is much easier to grasp without pain. That is also why I use 5 or 6 inch fero rods instead of little ones

Suggestion for using any axe Years back I was with some young children wanting to learn how to use an axe, Even the parents learned something, Never when splitting wood on a stump or on the grd, Never make a round hous swing Learn to bring the axe over your head and then pull straight down so the axe head travels straight into the wood If you miss, Where does the axe end up If you glance off something, It goes side ways, and it can never go towards ones self/ Then if your axe is in the wood, and you can lift it up to try and pound it down as you did I would say NOT good, The trick is to lift the wood with the axe in it straight up, Turn it over in the air and bring it down on the head, Now you will also notice when you do that You will realize the axe comes straight down just as I mentioned I hope you see the proper way to use any axe except a double headed axe as one should still only learn to bring the axe down in a straight line
