HELP.... What if your bios is okay, but the Bios Click menu (BIOS CLICK 2 in my case) on the MSI MB is corrupted and stripped of the basic linux functionaility? I can click into just one place, but should have over 6 choices to choose from, but even if I go into that menu, the button I clicked to get in is still visible inside the menu. So I guess you need to make a step by step video on HOW to fix a corrupted BIOS firmware, not the bios itself, but the menu where you navigate because NO ONE else did this before you.

Pro Tip: For your USB to be able to be recognized when installing new BIOS update, make sure your USB is formatted with FAT-32, not NTFS! Have a nice day!

Thank you for a really informative video. It was really easy to do it, even tho I had no experience in updating BIOS or anything like that. If people are in the same position as me, I'll explain my situation, in case that it might help someone else as well: I am on Gigabyte motherboard atm. I had a really old version of BIOS and I updated it to the latest ones. I downloaded the latest BIOS update and put only the setup file in my flash drive/thumb drive/whatever u call it nowadays, it was an 8 GB thumbdrive, the BIOS setup was the only file in there. My issue was: I was on GTX 660, this is a really old PC, both GTX 660 and H61M-S1 (my motherboard) are from 2012. Once I installed my GTX 750 TI, it started giving me 1-3 minute booting screen, before it loaded into windows, the actual windows boot was not affected, just pre-windows screen where it says "click this to enter BIOS", "click that to enter Flash screen" etc. It was stuck on that like if it was programmed like that. Many years later, as uneducated as I was, I figured out that I needed to update my bios, but my GPU was a bit faulty as well, so I was facing 2 problems. Thankfully, cleaning GPU and its fans fixed the GPU issue, I also updated GPU drivers. Then my windows started not loading, this happened when I updated from windows 7 to windows 10. Windows would load without GPU, but it wouldn't load anything at all when GPU was in, the best case scenario was for it to keep doing the 1-3 minute booting, then once it got to windows, it gave black screen and got stuck. I thought many things were wrong, but the only thing that was actually wrong was that my bios were not updated. Even tho the PC and all of its components were compatible with the GPU 750 TI, the BIOS were not updated, so it was not reading the GPU, or it wasn't accepting that since the BIOS was still in 2013 (according to the update), but the GPU was from 2014, so there was no way for it to recognize something that it hasn't seen before. This is why BIOS update solved it for me. Also cleaning the GPU helped a bit too, clean ur PC people. Thanks.

Get to know your BIOS version by using System Information Utility 1. Type in msinfo32 at RUN then press Enter 2. Now you will get BIOS version info on the right side.

Doing procedures like this that I've never done before, despite having built a great PC after a single night of google searches and setting it up without incident, I find, is nerve wracking anyway, simple as it may be. I think part of that is just praying that I don't encounter an unlucky power outage (which happens maybe once per year... that would be quite bad luck...) I guess I just never had much of a reason to update BIOS before on any previous PC's I've owned.. now I'm switching to a 2TB NVMe drive which I hear my ASUS X99-PRO won't (rather, may not) recognize easily without up-to-date BIOS. Glad this went off without a hitch, easier and quicker than expected, too. Thanks for the video. I can't wait for my new drive to arrive, switching from a 5 year old 1TB 10,000rpm WD Black standard HDD to a 2TB NVMe drive is going to be like meeting Jesus... for me... at least. I'll probably fare a bit better afterward too...

Thanks for the helpful vid. I was using an outdated BIOS on an Asus P9X79-E WS motherboard. After installing a newer GPU (MSI GTX 1080 Ti Armor), the GPU turned on with the fans spinning, but wouldn't put out any signal to my display. After updating the BIOS, everything is now working fine. ​@@Lil_guy366 Hey there, it's all good. I downloaded the most recent bios update file for that particular mother board, and put it on an empty USB drive. Then I rebooted my PC, went into the bios settings and looked for 'Asus EZ Flash 2' somewhere in the bios Tool settings. In there, you can select the file from the USB drive and start the bios updating process. I don't remember if I had to switch back to my old GPU first to be able to see anything, so you may have to do that first. Let me know how it goes.

On Gigabyte A320M-S2H BIOS at F42 I've never had updated BIOS before, so just came here to learn about it. The PC I got came with 8GB of ram but upgraded to 16x2= 32GB , 600W power supply, XFX RX 570 4GB, and Ryzen 5 3600. I made sure my drivers are up-to-date and it's still working fine, probably need to update my BIOS if I decide to upgrade my hardware or performance hinders overtime. Maybe I should grab another spare of motherboard just in case, although I have to start it from scratch on a separate PC.

On ASUS TUF B450-PLUS BIOS at 0221 I am planning to update my BIOS to unlock features present on my new GPU, but since I have a Ryzen 2000 processor I have run into difficulty even starting, as there is no documentation whatsoever on whether the 2000 chips are compatible with the latest bios versions available for B450, or if they were deleted along with the Ryzen 1000 and AM3/3+ chips. As this is my only CPU at the moment I risk bricking my motherboard if I do not have an answer to this issue. If not, then I am going to have to fork out some money for both another hardware upgrade and professional assembly fees in the coming months, and they are not cheap in my area.
