Good tips. My chi would attempt to try and nip when you grab her scruff. Mine has never lay on her back. Could be because of her missing left front leg. My best tip is to apply a little tension to show security them most if the time she will be fine. Hope others use your tips

Yes special dogs sometimes require different techniques. For a chihuahua so small it's easier to hold the head in place similar to what I did with Minnie (black dog)
