How are you rotating the lens like that? I'm learning to do this.

Just takes a little practice. 😊

are there any other ways of minimizing the irritating "white" edge? like different lens material? I hear that polycarbonate shows less than glass

There are several ways actually, the first (and easiest) would be to try using a higher degree angle when applying the safety edge. You will find that if you're getting that "white" edge, it's because the lenses are being held at too flat of an angle. This most commonly happens when trying to avoid hitting the bevel. While it's good to not touch the bevel as it will change the size/fit of the lens, with a little practice, you can get a good safety edge without that white effect. If you still get that white edge, you can usually still salvage the job by buffing the edges and giving them a good polish. Be sure to view our video of how to hand buff/polish lenses. :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYKZl5uQbdyMr8k

What about the different lens materials, like polycarbonate vs glass? can you coat the edges anti-reflective coating since you strip the coating off when cutting also causing it? because in sunlight or when the light hits the edges create this annoying flashy effect. Zennioptical does the polishing and beveling but you can still see the white edge, are they doing a poor job? On that video you shared, it shows white edges but that is more because the lens is very thick? Is it thicker than the frame thickness?

Did you ever make a tutorial for rimless?
@UseMyFrame6 жыл бұрын
Not yet, but thank you for the excellent suggestion! :) Are there any specific issues you would like to see covered?

Its only about rimless..hehehe

hello sir , can you introduce me some books instructing this way?
Don't listen to David! Trivex lenses are excellent and improve upon polycarbonate in almost every way! Better tensile strength, better clarity, less chromatic abberation, lighter, etc. etc.

Trivex and polycarbonate is usually the material in the US. Because of safety lawsuits
