Thankyou for that infomation sister, I did not know much about salting bait, but watched your other saltings and am much the wiser. Just need the time to get away fishing. All the best for xmass to you and family.

I'm glad this vid helped you out. It's pretty easy. Getting the cockles is the time-consuming part (next vid). Have a great Chrismas break and go catch some fish😉

This is great! I’m considering on doing this soon for a yorkes camping trip coming up. Reduce the amount of space when packing. I’ve found a place that sells them salted without having to freeze them but it’s more fun going for a day out to get them. Great video! You may have convinced me to do this now! 😊

Thanks Kim! Hope your York's trip goes well.

Great job and they last forever in the bait fridge , a good weekend at Goolwa can set you up for a while with bait .

Yes that is for sure! I am very impressed with the way they last on the hook 😊

After you do the row of cockles on the salt do you sprinkle more salt on top or start the next layer of paper towel?
@fishingsister7 күн бұрын
I have done both methods. I think I prefer salt on top as well as a bit underneath 👍
@anniefisho6 күн бұрын
Ok. I did that. Used some today they were definitely better in the holding in stakes!

Did you plac the cockles in room temperature or place in the frige?
@fishingsister8 ай бұрын
Great question. If it were hot, I might put them in the fridge, but this time I just had them outside in the container. The salt acts as a natural preservative. I hope that helps you🙂

@@fishingsister thank you! i hope i can catch lots of fishes by this method. I always used the fresh cockle baits and ended up feeding the fishes🤣🤣🤣

We have caught quite a few fish using cockles salted this way, and I sill have some cockle bait in the freezer from that day👍

Good video. Have you eaten live pipis boil with some hot chili, basil, coriander leaves? Yummy meals. You need to get sand out of pipis' bodies before boiling.
@fishingsister27 күн бұрын
*Thanks for the feedback.* We have not had them raw, but we have them in a _stir fry with basil and chilli._ .. *YUM*
@RRH-s2g27 күн бұрын
@@fishingsister Yes, we can't eat raw pipis.

We rest them in sea water for 24 hours and they de-sand themselves ready for cooking.
