I full on ugly cried. As someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts, this hits so incredibly close to home. Especially the "they will do one of two things" line. I've lost friends due to me being suicidal but I've also kept a few friends through it all. Those are the real friends. This song is so amazing and the vocals sound so passionate. I love it so much 🖤💜

If you lost friends to you being suicidal they weren't really friends. A true friend wouldn't turn on you. They would support you no matter what. Or so I'm told. I too am suicidal and have attempted more times then I remember but I dont open up to anyone. You're strong for opening up to loved ones.

@@j.9334 I guess. I know it is hard to talk to someone about how you're feeling and whatnot. It took me a good while to actually mention to my parents that something didn't feel right. Hell, I didn't even admit to anything until after my father noticed symptoms. If you ever need someone to talk to who doesn't know you personally and won't judge, I'm here and can give you my snap or insta.

I'm currently going through one of my depression episodes, worse than any I've had in over a year and I began isolating. In the moment of noticing how, when I disappear, no one reaches out to me and no one even contacts me to talk... My friends just seem to forget I existed. It hurts to know if I had done what my suicidal tendencies were telling me to do, days later, no one would even know I'm gone. The original song always hit me hard and I was looking for covers but found this in my search. I might take this version to my vocal coach so we can sing it instead of the original. Might be a good release for me.

@@tengochang8777 I have, yes. :) We were practicing it right before covid. Sorry for the slow response. It never alerted me. X.X I ended up making changes to this version, taking some from the original and hers to build something sort of the same, but more to my taste. It's something my vocal coach likes me doing. She enjoys when we alter songs because it makes them more 'personable'. Of course, she was asking me to put in more emotion, but then would warn me not to go too far. Not only because of my depression, but days before I finally gave the piece to her, I learned a guy from the Karaoke bar I would go to who would always tell me how good I was (I'm not a confident singer and don't feel like I'm that good) committed suicide.

Gonna be honest, I don't cry over a lot of songs, but this one had me breaking down in the very first verse. I've been on both sides of this exchange. I've been the one trying to save someone, and I've needed saving. Sometimes this really is how it feels. You know they're trying to help, you KNOW they mean well... but at the same time, it never feels like they understand, and it never feels like you can really tell them how you're feeling, because you don't think they'll be able to take it. Very good rewrite! My problem with the original is that despite its concept being how hard it is to actually save someone with your words and feeling bitter/defeated over it, the lyrics and music are so badly written and conceptualized that it comes across like actual advice, which is bad cause it offers terrible advice on how to help someone. Positioning yours as someone on the receiving end of the ultimatums, threats, and lack of empathy is great. Great job!

Damn....this rewrite was so powerful. It had me crying so hard. I struggle with anxiety and depression annually during the fall/winter but over the last 4 months, I have been in this huge funk that has had me contemplating alot. This is what's wrong with society we all in general just take people's word for how they are feeling, those who suffer with anxiety /Depression will rarely open up and tell you how they really feel. Whether it's because they are afraid of judgement, just don't want to bother you or they're scared of pushing those close to them away. So please next time someone tells you they are OK give them a hug anyway let them know you care and aren't going anywhere if you close enough you will see the pain hidden in their eyes that should be enough to tell you somethings wrong #Stronger together
