that detached ambition that Tulsi was describing in LA and Washington that makes human connection appear more 'transactional' is evidence of the enormous amount of work and focus necessary for some to attempt to simulate the manifestation of the successes that come to actual honest and authentic people naturally. Conservatives, generally, already have a religion and it is separate from their politics. This is where their tolerance comes from: people on the right are widely-reported as being generally more agreeable. Whereas progressives are prone to outrage when anyone dares to disagree. That is because progressivism *is* a religion, in lineal descent from Puritanism, an implacable faith shorn of Jesus but with the moral hauteur and intolerance intact. The Left live with constant status anxiety over the location of the moral high ground, so invest their egos in their opinions & always experience disagreement as personal attack.
