Things are a lot better. We’ve both changed quite a bit. In the beginning there was a lot of pain on both sides, now the focus is on the kids. Making sure they’re not victims. We treat each other with respect. We’ve both made huge mistakes. Nothing is simple, and we both know our faults.

My husband cheated on me for 23 out of 23 years together, his sister in law said I was a cheater and because she is his family it must be true. I would never cheat it's not worth it. I cannot move forward I am still stuck in shock mode 2 years later. I never suspected a thing I do feel cheating robs you of finding someone who would appreciate you. I’m two years too late but you pushed no one to cheat it’s been 20 years for me I’m still hurt but kids needed to be raised and I put them over me I’m glad I did. Not my fault but somebody had to be the adult no easy way out I had to sacrifice myself respect swallow my pride look in the mirror. It has been a long road but I’m still here. Let the past go. It robs you it never goes away completely but you can feel good about your accomplishments dispute your unfaithful partner

Who knows, maybe your partner is sincere and will change. After all, nobody’s perfect, right?They even promised to marry you. So is it worth it? Marriage after infidelity is a tricky proposition. But if you love the person, forgive and forget, move on and live happily ever after. Just like in the movies. Marriage can be a blessing, but it can also break your heart, especially, if you think you've reached the end of the road. There's no easy path to divorce. So is it worth forgiving someone who cheated on you? Of course. Do it, living with hate is not a good way to live. Is it worth forgetting about it? No. Your experiences in life make you stronger (and hopefully smarter). It's time to examine your feelings about yourself and your marriage. It is understandable that you are hurt by what your husband did. However, he has apologized for it and stopped his relationship with her for you. Now, it is up to you to forgive. Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself. It gives strength to move on. At this point you might have tried marriage counseling and probably hire a good lawyer, to best find the truth for proof in court I suggest you google search" hubtechhack ethical” to help you get proof from your partners device remotely for evidence. Sometimes it's worth saving a relationship and sometimes it isn't. Only you know the answer to the question of whether you should get a divorce or you're better off staying married.

Thanks again Dr. Paul your videos. Please I need your help. There is a 24 years old girl who’s really suffering from inside. In fact the problem is that when she newly immigrate in Canada after few months her mother felt sick of brain tumour. Since than her mom still in the hospital not talking , she loses memory. It as been five years now. It affected this 24 years old so much. Again she’s in the relationship with someone it also seemed not working properly. I am trying sometimes to encourage her so she accept the situation and try to focus and do something because she still have life, but it seems like it difficult for her to accept. She is affected and also her siblings. How can you help this girl please. Thank you.

Good video, but I'm wondering if these 9 principles are enough (?). IMO: After an affair/discovery, it is unlikely that either party (especially the betrayed) can easily operate genuinely with any of these 9 principles due to: anger, distrust, shame, anxiety, maybe some depression, defensiveness, fear, etc. For sure the WS will likely be in a deep, confused fog and will be trying to deny and hide facts/truth, etc. for obvious reasons. The betrayed spouse will be hard pressed to positively or empathetically approach the deflecting and defensive WS, in a manner that is certain to resolve the conflict. From the start, both people will have to possess good personal and moral character and integrity to commit 100 % to using these 9 principles and then effectively work toward resolution of the issues. Most cannot do this w/o counseling help if they seek it, and then all the ducks better be in a row for success, IMO. If they both had these qualities to start, maybe infidelity wouldn't have occurred? JMO

Namboy22, It would probably be more effective with someone to help them through the rough patches that will arise. Most people find they weren't 100% committed to the marriage before but realize what they have to lose now and want to change. It can happen, not easy. But worth it.

But, my point was that since most newly weds do not "know how to be MARRIED, and must learn/adapt on the fly", their efforts usually are futile (especially w/o professional counseling help). Resolving these issues will take a lot of really serious, hard work and dedication to succeed. Sadly, many people do not know how to do this or elect to not seek that help due to many factors (costs, availability, etc). Finally, do appreciate what you do to assist troubled relationships. It is very important work for sure.
