If your water contains chloramine, sodium thiosulfate/thiosulphate will break the chlorine-ammonia bond. So yes, it does remove chloramine ☝️

@@NORIaquaCh I read some comments else where that mentioned sodium thiosulfate will remove chlorine but what it converts it to is ammonia. Is that true? Or it just removes chlorine and chloramine without converting it into ammonia?

@@mq3018 Good question. Your filtration system, beneficial bacteria and your plants will use the ammonia bond left behind. The ammonia ions should be relatively low, but that depends on your water source. The ammonia ions are harmful to fish only if the pH is above 7.0, so the chances of your livestock dying is significantly low. I have not seen any shrimp or fish die from this method over the past 2 years. I hope this helps.

@@NORIaquaCh ah ok thanks. I keep betta, so there is no filtration or plants because my water has salt. I dare not put plants in my tanks fearing that they would die.

@@mq3018 why not use a water filtration system and the Betta can be in a more natural environment that is going to greatly improve the water quality and they are very entertaining to watch intrracting and hiding in the plants ready to ambush the next bug passing by !!!! This is very easy to have your water free from most things that are unpleasant to drink or house freshwater creatures ! 💡

Hello nori, hope you doing well. So do we just pouring it to the tank? Or to the water before water change? Thanks for awesome n informatif video. Cheers from indonesia

You can pour directly into the tank, or the bucket before pouring the water into the tank. If your water has high chlorine, then I highly recommend adding it to the water before you put it into the tank.

I hope this will do change to my planted tank nori. Cheers.,sorry for bad english

If you use well/bore water, then you do not need to de-chlorinate as there should be no traces of chlorine in that water. I hope this helps you.
