You should try putting a sheet of something from the top bunk to the lower bed so it will be encapsulated and the cold air will stay within your sleeping area instead of the whole cabin

Here in Finland, I can say that usually, we have in summer bellow +30c and summer is short. Now here Tampere (140km north from Helsinki) is +2.7c but it had below zero may days (0c = water freezes, 100c water boils). 2018 summer was long and very hot & I think that we get couple rains only. The inside of the apartment was +33c / 91.4F and the fan did help nothing. We usually have no AC in our houses and less in rental apartments :) I think because we usually need more warming than freezing :) hehe. In 1999 end of February (Suomussalmi where I did live then) was -42c / -43.6F so yea, more warming was needed and my friend called me from far north where was -52c / -61.6F and says that his car doesn't start anymore :) Also, one Volve V40 did kiss my car behind 2 weeks ago when there was ice in road. I was waiting lights turn green and so... Waiting info from insurance, his insurance...

You can turn off that annoying lane departure noise by the switch on the dash. The icon on the switch looks like a picture of a cell phone but it's actually a picture of a lane. It will stay off for about 10 minutes at a time but then you have to hit the switch again.

You ever think about putting extra batteries in the bunk to run ur a/c longer? Ive read most trucks have 4 batteries but some in warmer climates have 3. Then you can add 1-3 extra batteries for the bunk.

How does the AC compare to getting something like a green APU?
@robertgardner45082 жыл бұрын
Well let me tell you. $2,000 for small portable AC for the bunk, vs $8,000-$12,000 for an APU. APU gives fan ventilation, the AC, and heat, and power so if you can afford the APU obviously you'd want the APU. If you have a good inverter and don't want to idle the truck then yeah I'd say getting a portable little AC unit like he has in the video and routing it to blow at the bunk would be the better and cheaper solution. Just saves you some money, because one cost a small fortune where the other costs 2 grand which is not near as bad if you're just looking for a way to cool off.

Dry van = cheap freight. You're competing with the mega carriers that haul it for nothing. I recommend more specialized freight like refrigerated, tanker, bed bugging or equipment hauling. Your area has produce & seafood that pays well for reefers. Be safe out there.
