What I did before taking Instrument training, I’ve spent thousands of hours “flying” Microsoft Flight Sim. Anyway you gave a good advice for beginners

When you do a cross country flight in a simulator, through controlled air space, how do you simulate controllers? Or ground at busy airports?

What are your thoughts on Microsoft flight simulator?

great software. Just make sure to shut off the auto update

Congratulations with you flight school Sir! I live three miles from your location in Lawrenceville. I will arrange a tour soon. I am too old now to get a PPL, but I share this information with all the young people I know with hopes they will see this as an option for their future. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but I try.

Can you be 65 year old get your license?
@ahetzel9054Ай бұрын
Absolutely! Just don't plan on making a career out of it, mandatory retirement age for career pilots is 65. You could however take the path of a teacher if you do wish to have a job in aviation. Could be a great way to enjoy retirement and still work

How about telling them to get a home flight sim and a concise curriculum to train such that they only need the minimum 40 paid hours for the PPL because they know their stuff.
@mojogripАй бұрын
We have but what you'll find out is most people don't do much about their training once they walk out the door of a flight school. Home and work life pretty much takes over.

Simulator (sim) time does NOT count towards a pilots flight time. Sim time only counts as sim time. SOME sim time, depending on the training device used, can be credited towards certain training time requirements for certain certificates/ratings. Sim time credit applies only to FAA approved training devices. In other words, hobbyist desktop computer programs are not approved training devices. The FAA describes approved training devices and both the software and hardware requirements.

Did you watch the video?
@FlyingSeniorАй бұрын
@@mojogrip Yes, I did. You did not make the point that time spent in training devices (simulator, aka: "sim") must be FAA approved training devices in order to count towards certain airman certificates. There's a perception out there that since Microsoft markets an entertainment program titled Flight Simulator that it is fact a training program. I get this question all of the time. Redbird is working with the EAA and the FAA towards using training devices (sims) for Biannual Flight Reviews (BFRs) and instrument approach currency. Not sure how far implementing such a program will take.
