This is one of the absolute best videos on MS WORD that I have seen - ditto what the last person said. Much more coherent and logical than the others!

Thanks so much for your feedback! I'm thrilled this Word video was valuable for you! Word is so much simpler to use once the often not obvious formatting features are easier to understand.

Thanks so much, Dawn! I really enjoy formatting everything I work on - - making projects look good in their space.. I am currently working on re-publishing a family booklet (originally I did this in 2005). I've learned many new formatting ideas sinceback then. Your article has helped tremendously to enable me to make those subtle format changes that i needed (but didn't know about). Adding sections to my document will help a great deal. You have shown me how to add page numbering to different sections. Again, many thanks!!!

Thank you so much for the sections information and for how to differentiate between sections on the footer. I am sure the header is similar. Very clear and concise. Easy to follow which is nice for an old knucklehead like me.

I have a question about Numbering and bullets --- and assigning a style. I have created a style I call Numbered List. It is indented 0.25" with a hanging indent of another 0.25. I use arabic numerals. The style won't stick. I have also assigned a shortcut, so when I'm in the paragraph I use my keyboard shortcut. 2/3 of the time the indent and hanging indent are super small (0.1 and 0.15), and if I say "Restart at 1" the indents also go wonky. Do you know how I can make this stick? I've recreated the style, Modified the style, Updated according to the selection --- I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

This sounds like a challenging style issue, Lynda. Even with your detailed explanation, it's a bit difficult to know exactly what might be causing the issue. One thing to check is modify the style and check the property for Style based on. If the foundation style is changing this might cause changes to your numbered list style.

Thank you. Simple question: how can I eliminate the soft return in the normal template to all HARD returns? Thank you in advance
@thesoftwarepro
@thesoftwarepro Жыл бұрын
There isn't a special character in Word that designates a soft return. These breaks happen automatically based on the page layout, formatting, and document content. This video on finding and replacing special characters may be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGGrp5qBedCtbas

Hello, need help. I have a 25-page document. Every page is formatted exactly alike. Let's say the blank top space is set at Times = 8 font. The 1st sentence is indented at 17 space bar clicks to the right. I want to change the top blank space to Times = 3 font (pulling up the document) and the 1st sentence line to 22 space bar clicks (pushing the document over more to the right). Is there a way to make this change on all 25 pages at 1 time versus doing each and every page manually? This 1 document has 25 pages but I have 30 separate documents/files with 25 pages in each document which is going to be a pain if there is no shortcut.

Hi Madam, I am frustrated as I don't find as to how to change font style and size of file "normal.dotm" i.e. used for autotext / quickparts. Shall be grateful if you could let me know the procedure of changing font size of the said file. Thanks

Cannot believe you are promoting manual font and paragraph formatting as a 'Time Saving' tool. In my opinion this is just displaying how to 'use' Word and not how to 'Utilise' it.
@thesoftwarepro
@thesoftwarepro 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. Word includes many other more time-saving tools. One of the challenges I've seen in working with more than 100,000 people is that some Word users get frustrated formatting text as they don't understand why a new paragraph is formatted differently. Or, they want distinct formatting for a portion of a document and don't know about working with section formatting.

Your content is excellent but it is a little too basic and over explained. I hope you don't mind my honest critique there ... you obviously know this subject very well but perhaps it's not necessary to wrap so much comment around it.
