brilliant I can not explain how realistic this film is that anxious awkward feeling you feel throughout this film can be linked to so many true life experiences like relationships with a toxic friend, parent or partner. people that break your home, break you and as soon as you try to do something about it they say that you are hurting them in attempt to make you feel empathy for them.

Truth can blow a mind, as the lies collapse. The reality is opposite to what we been told. Many live in delusions and proudly so. Can a soul survive, while seeking truth? Can a mind stay sane, as lies get exposed? Can a heart stay beating, whence the old life collapsed? What a wonderful testimonies from souls, as they found the truth. What a heartbreaking tragedy from those who stayed in lies.

Terrifying as a chance encounter, but intentional, it can turn into torment. A seemingly banal story, but loaded with uncomfortable climates. The script and direction are brilliant, which masterfully suffocate us. They hold our breath and warn us that everyday situations can turn into tragedy. And at all times we are surprised with clues that do not materialize, but that could happen. The neurotic complicity of the characters is the result of a sensitive and profound work of the actors. The director knew how to hold our attention and breath! The camera work is incredible, with breathtaking angles and rhythm. Soundtrack and lighting complete the psychology of the scene. Congratulations! I loved!

💜 The visitor (the chap who took off his shirt) was homeless. He went on the date, so he would have a place to stay that night. The host used cocaine, or some other illegal drug. But the visitor made the host feel in danger, & visitor’s lack of sensitivity to other people (being quiet for the roommate) made the host so uncomfortable that he had to throw the visitor out. The host gave creepy vibes for using a very high quantity of illegal drugs, and the visitor gave a creepy vibe for picking up the knife (earlier), and almost forcing the host to let him spend the night (later). The host’s chasing after the visitor was to give him his shirt & cellphone. It is a very well-done film that warns gay men that the visitor of a gay hookup app, could pose extreme danger to the host, or, likewise, the host could pose extreme danger to the visitor. The film is very disturbing, but many gay men need exactly this as a wake-up call, to prevent being murdered. One hopes that it will cause many to use extreme caution, instead of wild abandon, and thus save many lives. Thanks to the whole film team: writer, actors, producer, etc. Expertly done! Any putative flaws in the film are mitigated by the film's saving lives.

A film should make a person feel something. Too many times I have left a theater or turned off my computer and five minutes later I don't remember what I saw. Not this film. I felt a combination of creepiness and disquiet. It brought up memories of a guy dated for a couple of months. So I seriously gave this a thumbs up. It made me feel something - even if the feelings are unpleasant. Thanks for your film! ❤

The video description says you need to watch thru til the end to truly understand the film, but the suggested video covers the end. That must be frustrating for the film’s creator, I hope this changes that. I went on Vimeo to find out what the end says. Right under the thumbnail at the end it says “there is no accurate measurement of New York City’s unsheltered homeless population.” This feels like something people should be able to see.

It also makes me understand why he likes simple household things like the knife so much. And also when he says “do you ever think about what else is happening in the world right now” and “my dad was planning his great escape” could be another reason. @@theomellors688 Honestly, the added bit about him being homeless doesn't make him any more likable. Someone should feel safe in their own home and should be allowed to change their mind if they no longer want to do something. Paul being homeless doesn't change the fact that he's being inappropriate and a creep. I legit thought there was going to be a murder or sexual assault.

First, thank you for using a SAG-AFTRA contract. I think that made a big difference. I loved the creepy, freaky feeling from the very beginning. The tension was on and never let up; I always expected “something” to happen so it kept me on edge. Introducing the big knife was brilliant because I just kept waiting for it to be pulled on one or the other. Great work maintaining that tension and creating/building these characters who were so well-portrayed by the two actors. My only suggestion would be to make the really dark scenes a little lighter so we can see some of the fine acting going on. I look forward to more films from you.

My interpretation of Paul's backstory: He is a badly socially maladjusted young man as a result of an abusive childhood, chronically homeless, and probably only marginally employable. He habitually secures places to stay for himself by offering himself as a sex-toy to other gay men, and his good looks and nice body usually smooths over the aggressively forward manner in which he goes about this. Paul always ends up being eventually turned out onto the streets by these men on account of his serious social maladjustment. He usually approaches affluent older men, but this night, he was desperate for a place to stay, so he ended up choosing somebody with whom his usual MO just wasn't going to fly. This was the first time Paul was aggressively spurned, which is why he retreated in stunned disbelief, not even retrieving his shirt and his phone. I tend to think that if Benny would have caught up to Paul in time at the end, it would have been a momentarily happier ending, with Paul realizing he needs to play it a little bit cooler with this high-strung guy he picked out on a dating app.

I think this film depicts attachment styles in an extreme way. Paul’s character is anxious attachment, and the guy with the glasses is the avoidant. Paul got too needy and clingy until Paul had to tell him off, so Paul ran away (probably to someone else) while the guy with the glasses chase after him at the end. The anxious-avoidant relationship can be very toxic. People are judging the anxious(Paul) too harshly, but why did the avoidant ask Paul to stop by? Paul did say that he came on strong on the internet. Why is he acting all prudish now? Who is really the toxic one? Paul or the glasses guy?

No. He's just very manipulative. The other dude came after him because even though Paul was at fault, Paul is very charismatic and made the other dude feel bad for slapping him. Basically people like that make you forget what they did to you and put the blame on you by playing the victim. Take it as; Someone comes to your house, wrecks it completely and breaks everything, but then offers to help fixing the shit they broke. Obviously you will start yelling at him for destroying your house, but in their mind, they just think you're an ungrateful little shit for cursing at them when they offered help. That's how these people work and that is what Paul did. He also used his past to make the other one pity him, and had full disrespect towards the other roommate and the dude himself.

A warning about internet psychopaths using/abusing people.
@curtischildress9580
@curtischildress9580 2 жыл бұрын
@@uugh_3 We can get used for sure, you must have experiences like this too...we're lucky to survive these psychopaths...the kicker is how countless straight men use gay social sites ( you know the ones I'm talking about) to pull us out & hurt us. The gay personal ads on Craig's was taken down because so many cruel abuses were happening to us by straight men...guys beaten, publically outed with photos on the net. My beloved late partner & I campaigned against Craig's for keeping their personals because countless innocent men, even underage guys were being raped, beaten, outed. Take care. Pride Month is over but we still have every good reason to be proud.

I've never felt loved in my life..I would love to have someone like Paul tbh that wants someone to love him..Paul would be great for me I love those outgoing/friendly/always wanna do things types and this isn't weird to me..I never experience that 'wanting love' like Paul but I guarantee you it is hard to let go, suck it up and leave..I would love someone like Paul type. Paul had alot of strong sayings to Benny "I don't feel like living" "come on Benny don't do this,after we got to this point I'm not going anywhere" Paul loved the heck out of Benny👀🥰I want someone like Paul and the type guy Paul is isn't everyone's type guy but Paul is my type..Paul just couldn't leave👀someone with that much heart is incredible and not alot of people have that usually it takes seconds to get someone out your own house
@oscars.4149

The whole point of Paul was to display every possible red flag one could have within such a situation. Him getting into your house without permission, ignoring your request to be quiet for your roommate, grabbing a knife, forcing himself onto you without consent, refusing to leave, displaying weird behaviours etc. Please do some self-reflection if you still think this dude is normal.
@DAVID-kd3qy
@DAVID-kd3qy Жыл бұрын
@@oscars.4149 At no point in his comments did Frederick say that this man was "normal." You need to practise close reading. What are red flags to you may not be red flags to others - you cannot control interpretation of your work. You created a dangerous, but attractive, male - don't be surprised when other gay males are indeed attracted to that sort of male. It would seem that you, also, need to do some self-reflection. Otherwise, the film was indeed disturbing and memorable. Thank you.

Okay so apparently everyone in the comment sections have their PHDs or something but I didn’t get the video at all. Were they lovers? Why didn’t he wanna hookup? What was the point of this film?
@skulletorable
@skulletorable Жыл бұрын
I think they talked through a hookup app. Glasses guy and other guy were complete mismatched in personality. I think this tried to paint a picture about how many red flags can be taken the wrong way due to two people being completely different in their understandings of what was going to happen.

Chris' character was a touch clingy and over the top at times, came off as desperate. Mat's character was reserved, easily spooked, and on drugs. It was a bad combination.

Self-Determination Law... Subi then MAN could practically go to the office and register as a woman... Then go straight to a women's changing room and, thanks to state support, as a registered woman as a MAN, enjoy the female bodies without prosecution.... Sick world we live in... Only God can still save you poor souls Amen

God is against this sinful behavior, in Genesis 19, God destroyed 2 cities. JESUS LOVES BUT NOT AS GAYS, IF YOU DON'T REPENT & TURN AWAY FROM THIS DISGUSTING SIN, HELL FIRE IS 🔥 WAITING FOR YOU. TURN TO JESUS HIS THE WAY THE TRUTH & THE LIFE ( JOHN 14:6)

The lighting in this movie is really awful. The one who made this movie urgently needs to attend some intensive training courses in camera skills. I had to discontinue watching it after it started for 2 minutes.
