It is only a few days that I found the English lessons by 'Ms. Gill ' I have not words to tell how wonderful they are. I learn English many years ago but I did not have the opportunity to listen or to speak for many years now and to listen to Ms Gill is like listening to my favourite music. Thank you very much. You make me very happy, indeed.

And then there are the words like herb & herbal, which we in England place in the first column, but our American cousins place in the third. The second column words sound different [in my opinion] because of the tongue placement for the following vowel sound. If you listen carefully, you'll also hear the 'raspier' sound in "heat" and "heal/heel"; this is because the tongue is raised for what we call a 'long E" sound. (And I can add one to the list where the following vowel isn't "U" - although it _is_ pronounced the same: "hew" :-)
