Ive never been a fan of poppy playtime nor do I even know anything about it, but as a newer plush maker myself I find this to be interesting as Ive never actually thought about adding scents to my handmade plushes. I love that these characters are scented! It adds so much to the personality of the dolls and it reminds me a lot of the scented gimmick of the strawberry shortcake dolls. :D

How much did the scents and voice lines cost all together?and what if you use normal scissors instead of fabric scissors?

Voice boxes cost around $9, depending on the place you get them of course. I think you can get them cheaper online from other sources. The scentiments each cost $4.50, so basically $5 with tax. That’s retail value, but resold they can vary in price if you want something specific and not currently available. And if you use normal scissors, it’ll still work out fine, but will be less clean of a cut and is slightly more dangerous since you’ll have to put in more force. If you want to make additions to multiple Smiling Critters or plushies in general, I suggest buying a pair of fabric scissors, it will make things so much easier, and more importantly, safer!

Thanks for the kind words, and appreciating my effort to respond to everyone I can! Also, the scents each should last strongly for around a year, and they start fading over the course of 2 to 3 years or so. That’s the most common people say they last in their plushies. Also there is no vanilla scentiment, but the birthday cake one is just vanilla, so it’s under a different fancy name but birthday cake is the vanilla scentiment and what I used for DogDay!

It would also be even more lore accurate as in the game universe the zipper in the smiling critters is most like where they put the arisol cans as in universe you have to pull there tail which will cause the smell to spray out of the shower grate looking thing in the middle of there mouths [ I checked it actually called the "gas dispersion apparatus "]

Scentiments last 1 year strong, and fade over the course of 2 to 3 years. So they last a while. And if you don’t want to cut open a plushie to put scentiments inside, you can try finding “pocket areas” in plushies that can fit a scentiment inside. So yeah, advice for ya.

If you want to open the zipper, then yes you can sew the cut closed, just make sure you’re happy with the changes you made, otherwise you’ll have to cut the plush open again, and that gets tedious over and over again.

If you’re worried about messing up the process (which I totally understand) then maybe somebody can help you out, since the scariest part is cutting into the plush, but also ironically the quickest, so maybe someone can assist you with that after seeing how I do it. And of course, to make sure it goes smoothly, I again recommend fabric scissors!
