I'm so glad! I feel like the "I don't have a data warehouse to work with" is more common than most people think, I've been there myself and it's definitely a struggle to automate in that space. :)

Always love watching your videos. It inspires me to be as productive as possible without "reinventing the wheel". I replayed the last 30 seconds at least 3 times because the screen recording in Power Automate desktop really caught my attention! Looking forward to seeing that when it comes out!

Thank you!! Power Automate Desktop is a fun tool, you would think not from the outset but it seems to really promote creative thinking to get results in a strange way that I find really entertaining… I guess that’s a new level of Power Platform nerdery, lol

Hi Christine! Does this work the same for JSON files? (I've followed your Planner steps/flow to create the JSON file previously.)

Hello. Great video. In fact, a lot of great videos. I have a question though. When I click on the ellipses once on the webpage, I don't see view dataset. I then clicked on "view semantic model", then I see the refresh button a the top, clicked schedule refresh, which then takes me to what looks like the screen you were looking at for auto refreshes. However, data source credentials is grayed out, and when I click on refresh all of the options under that section are also grayed out. Any suggestions?
@bi-ome2 ай бұрын
Microsoft renamed datasets to semantic models, so you're in the right place! Are you the owner of the model? Only one person can own it at a time, so if it was published by someone else there will be a "take over" button at the top of the page. If that's the issue, then when you take over refresh you'll be able to manage credentials/schedule.

@@bi-ome I am the owner. I was able to click on the name where you see the last refresh date and I am listed as the owner. So not sure what to do next.

I figured it out! Basically, I had 1 index table to help order my AR aging properly that was linked to a file on my hard drive. As soon as I moved it over to the TEAMs folder where the other files are located, it allowed me to connect. Thanks again for the video.

So, my company has restrictions with who has access to SharePoint. Also, I work in HR so the reports I use have confidential information. Is there a way I can utilize One Drive instead of SharePoint? For the time being, I'm looking to drop excel files to a location and have my Power BI refresh when I save a new file into said location.

OneDrive is basically a personal SharePoint site, so you can use that the exact same way. But, SharePoint is a better place for it - you can set the site permissions so that only HR has access. It's not public by default or anything. OneDrive is usually not recommended for business continuity reasons because if you leave, your OneDrive gets deleted with your account.
