Pass an entry to show settlement to creditor. Say if an unrecorded purchase of 1000 exists and creditor balance in books is 15000 then Creditor A/c - 15,000 To Realisation A/c 15,000 (Transfer of liability) Realisation A/c Dr. 16,000 To Bank A/c - 16,000 (Payment to creditor)

How to treat JOINT LIFE POLICY surrender, if there is BANK OD and there is no cash Balance?

@@1FIN say the joint life policy amounts to 6000 and at time of surrender it realises 6000 and during the end of year there is no cash balance and the bank overdraft is reduced by 5000,can we assume the BOD is reduced because of payment of amt from jlp and if so what to do with extra 1000 remaining after payment of BOD
