The slap-pass from the point is also a good option if you have traffic in front of the net / goalie's eyes. Sometimes the goalie sees the big wind-up and commits to the shot, trying to "get big" and try to stop a what could be a seeing-eye shot. Then instead of shooting, fire a pass to a teammate on the weak side / slot / back door and cash in. Although I suppose the video's not about getting more assists ;)

Always watch the goalie warm up while stretching. I look at what style of pads and how strong they are on skates. It tells me how rebounds will be and what areas I can exploit.

Quick tip: If your in the house, try as hard as you can to get inside the ringette line. As a goalie, that is one of the hardest shots to save.

Always remember that the puck can find a path that your eyes can’t see. Make a move and get the goalies eyes and attention in your body and then picture what the puck can see as if it had eyes, the goalie is almost never ready for you to shoot at a corner that you can’t see.

there's a good video out there with Matthew's explaining that he finds something like a toe drag and then a shot changes the angle enough in the last second to increase the odds. Watch NHL players - they do it all the time!

@@karigrandii hah, that's open for debate. About 2/3 of NHL players are lefty, and even though currently 4/6 of the top scorers are righty doesn't mean it's necessarily better. We just happen to have a bunch of really good righties at the moment. For example: Gretzky was a lefty. Jagr was a lefty. You gonna tell me the top 2 goalscorers of all time--more goals combined than the next three or four after them combined--have a shooting disadvantage?

Are those goalie's skates made of lead? He barely moves at all. No t-pushes, poke checks, barely gets down into the butterfly for the save. 2:48 - 3:08 bruhh he barely moves 3:43 you mention taking a couple of strides at the blue line to force the goalie to reposition but all the goalie would have to do is take tiny sidesteps to adjust the angle 4:50 aight that glove save was pretty good but he still should've t-pushed over

A high shot from the point is a waist of time. Shoot low or keep it on the ice. Shoot when there is traffic in front of the net. A offensive player has a chance to tip it or change the direction of the puck. The puck might even go off of someones skate and find the net.
